I have a question for Uber: is there any fucking point to "cash back" incentives in car ads? I mean for the consumer, not for the car company.

Let's think about it this way, If you're buying a car, and you get $3,000 cash back, you're not getting a god damned thing back. You're being handed your own money, but you're way too stupid to realize it.

Hypothetical situation:

Car A costs $20,000. The incentives for buying car A, besides the fact that its a car, are an extended warranty (that usually doesnt really cover anything) and $2000 cash back. Now you're giving the dealership money, right? Thats the twenty grand you forked out for your new car. The two thousand they're giving back isnt really their money. It's your fucking money. You could have saved your ass the fucking trouble and bought an $18,000 car, and taken two fucking grand out of your bank account to walk around with. That's all you're doing.

Speaking of which, why would you want cash back anyway? What the fuck are you going to do with it? Most people are going to put it back in the fucking bank. Maybe it makes you feel good, the equivolent of masturbation to be handed a large sum of cash. But why? It's your fucking money in the first place!

Id rather see car dealerships just take the "cash back" value off of the price. It would save people the trouble of having their ass handed to them on a dixie plate.

The worst part is that the most of you probably havent even thought about this. You'd go through your meaningless little life, content to be screwed in the ass by big business.

I doubt any of this applies to you specifically, because everyone knows that Uberers are the poorest people on the planet. But if you do have money, tell a car salesman to fuck off when he dangles the cash back offer in front of your face.

I just noticed the slogan on that Chevy add:

"solid and satisfying"

Sounds like a good dump to me.

THAT is worth a plus two.

I'm Bored.

Lets have a better post next time. One that we can really have an argument about maybe.

For instance take a look at I think it was Ohlookasquirrels first post. The one about socialism.

Now that was fun.

sketch said it best:
"I think maybe you've had a little too much coffee and not enough suicide."

here's how it works:
a) i go into a dealership to buy a 20K car with a 2K "cash back" aka "rebate."
b) i only pay 18K for the car.

thats how it works.

nobody gets 2 grand in their pocket, ever. that i promise you.

honestly, dakingisdead, i dont care about this argument. I have nothing against you, and id like to keep this confined to just this thread, but i just cant help myself from replying again. Maybe its because i just love to argue.

If they were buying a car and wanted the money that badly, it would work out to be in their better interest to go to a bank and take out a loan. Now the point of my stupid little post wasnt this. It was just something to post. You responded harshly, and i decided id get into it with you. but now im tired, and i just dont care, so lets squash it.

If it makes you feel any better, you win. congratulations.

So you're telling me that someone would actually buy a new fucking car just to get the money?

Are you fucking kidding me? Nobody would do that. Ever.

Shit, they'd be better off taking out a loan.
...................................................................................................

No I am telling you that sometimes they need a new car AND they need the money and that this then works for them.

Go ask a dealer how often it happens. (all the fucking time)

Random Joe.

Sometimes I just like to fuck with people particularly when they 'know it all' and want to pass judgement on other peoples choices without knowing their circumstances.

And you sure are making a lot of assumptions from a fucking post, arent you? Everyone should be like me? What? Where do you pull this shit from?

I think maybe you've had a little too much coffee and not enough suicide.

Bullshit.

You are a whiny little cunt that thinks everyone should be like you.

Your very first sentence asked:
"I have a question for Uber: is there any fucking point to "cash back" incentives in car ads? I mean for the consumer, not for the car company."

The answer is as I said yes if you want the money that bad and many people do.

Wake up and smell the coffee. Nobody is screwing anyone here particularly not in the arse.

They offer you a deal you can take it or leave it.

"So you insult us and expect anything but minus 2's."

i didnt expect shit. i dont happen to remember stating that i expected anything.

"It is called MARKETING STRATEGY you bloody turkey.

A lot of people will buy the car on the drip with very little down and the loan is written up for the full amount and then they get back the 2000 bucks as credit. Sure in the end if they did their sums they are going to pay back three or four times that amount but that is because they either:

A)need the money
B)Are stupid.

The finance industry and car dealership then have a loan outstanding for the greater amount and so make a better profit over the loans duration.

See it is good business sense for them to do it this way and MANY people go for it so why wouldn't they offer it."

I already knew that. Read that first line again. You see that second sentence? The second fucking sentence you read? yeah. That just screwed your argument all to hell.
