Dear Son:
Several years ago, you cobbled together a website with the idea of seeing whether a website could be self-supporting and not require human intervention. It was to be an experiment of sorts. After the code was finally perfected, it was ready. Ubersite was born! Would it work? Could it maintain itself?
Initially it grew slowly. Dogbyte submitted some of the original posts, like this gem: http://www.ubersite.com/m/191 Initially many of the posts sucked: http://www.ubersite.com/m/3 Fast forward nearly 5 years and still some posts suck and some are excellent. However, is this thing self-maintaining? Not hardly. Who knows how many hours you put into maintaining this idea? Hour upon hour of deleting posts, users, posting personal info, placing IP bans, and locking accounts and still it is has been overrun. Ubersite has slowly turned into a NYC slum. Amongst the handful of good posts, you will find mostly posts like this one: http://www.ubersite.com/m/43445 This post in particular is shocking because it's clear that the person that has their personal information posted here is not actually the one making all the posts.
You have made changes that were quickly dodged by the teeming millions. The new ratings system looked like a great idea, now a large amount of users have multiple accounts. Ubersite has degenerated into a land of hate posts, retaliation ratings, and multiple users far faster than the Bart Ban can be applied. It is almost impossible to find the gold that is hidden by the piles of shit that decorate the front page. The experiment has failed son. The experiment has failed.
