They say a bath is good for you.
Nice and comforting; soothing for the soul.
They are right.
I was lying in the bath tonight. Warm liquid thickly caressing my body. The aroma, so pleasant as it filled my nostrils. I had thoughts of love, of intimacy, of quiet moments under the stars. My head was swimming with the activities of the prior week. My harvesting of souls and the disposing of their human vessels. Some people say that it's not the kill, but the thrill of the chase.
I beg to differ.
It is the kill. It is the conquest. It is the domination.
I thought of all these things as I was bathing tonight, Swishing the liquid round and round. Gathering some of it in my mouth and spurting streams of it from one end of the tub to the other. It was so tasty and enjoyable. Running handfuls of warm liquid over my shoulders, my neck, my freshly shaven head. I had to take time out from the rigorous pursuit of soul cleansing that I normally put myself through. Today I realized that I have a tremendous amount of work to do. My life is a work in progress made possible by torture and death. Creative death. Relentless death. An unbelievable amount of unfinished death.
I soaked for what seemed like an eternity in the spoils of my religion.
Deep dark crimson. The smell of copper filled my house and the memories that smell brought to me were staggering. I have been active for so long. The papers say it has been years now. I have lost track of all that time. Pursuit of a single goal will do that to a person. The goal takes over and all other things are unimportant. All other things are secondary. All other things are inconceivable. It seems like too short a time since I embarked on my quest.
As I stepped from my bath, and towards the mirror, I had a delicious thought. How about a bath like this every month. A nice warm, comforting break from the rigors of my daily endeavor. As I stared at my body in the mirror, dark liquid forming trails down my body, I thought "Yes, this is what I work for, what I yearn for. This is how I must continue to lead my life".
My bath took a long time to drain. I watched as the level went slowly down and wondered if the effort it took to create it was worth it. I also thought of Alfred Hitchcock and Janet Leigh.
As I was cleaning up the clotted residue afterwards I decided yes, it was all worth it.
I will do it again.

I was eating an early lunch.
I made the unfortunate choice of bringing tomato soup today.
Enough said.
I laughed out loud at this.

I've just read all of these...
And now you have made me not want to:
-eat meat of any kind
-have sex with anyone
-bathe
And probably a few other things aswell. Thanks Mike. Thanks a bunch.
You read them all at once? I'd be curious to know how the flow of the series is going. I think each one is a little different in it's own way but I wonder if he has progressed at all in the way he thinks and writes.
Hmmmm....maybe I better go reread.

"Right. Going to go be borderline sane now."
Right.
Sounds easy doesn't it?
Good luck.

I assume he used some kind of heating device.
_________
Read a story a while ago about an elderly man who used one in his bath to keep the water warm. He died in the bath and they didn't find him for a couple of weeks.
Dead person, warm water, a couple of weeks.
I just felt like sharing that image with you.
Ahem.
Right. Going to go be borderline sane now.

No..no this wont do at all, Im so sick of the word liquid now...seriously.
Warm liquid..thick liquid..liquid, liquid,liquid.
That and the mental images.
I used the word liquid 4 times in a 454 word post. that's less than 1 percent of the total. If you know anything about this particular madman its that he repeats certain things sometimes.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. :oP

I wonder how much blood it would take to actually fill up a bathtub? And, while I'm at it, logistically speaking it seems like this bath would be fairly difficult to keep warm. I mean, assume that a person has about 6 pints of blood in them. A bathtub holds... Oh fuck it, I don't know where I'm going with this. It seems as though the blood would get a bit cold fairly quickly. I'm done blathering now. Good stuff.

Took me a while to realize he was bathing is blood. Good on you. By the way, you're going to have a hard fucking time cleaning that towel let me tell you. I would know, took me a good week to get the stains out of my drapes.

And (semi linkwhore, my bad) I wrote a story called 'Once they've got a taste for it' a while ago; this made me think of it. If you get time, could I get feedback on it? There aren't many 'creepy' writers on Uber and I'd value your opinion.

Good, but the use of the word 'liquid' made everything predictable and gave away the ending.
