I just moved out of my house last week, and I came across something when I was packing.
I'm not from Pittsburgh, but my entire family is - which has made me a die-hard Pittsburgh fan. Awhile back, I went to the Penguins game here in Chicago. After Chicago kicked Pittsburgh's ass, I went around the back to see if I could get some autographs. I hung out by the bus for a little, and they started coming out.
All the Penguins came out - Lemieux was in a suit due to previous injury (hadn't played). I started getting close to them asking for autographs, but they were rushed due to obnoxious Chicago fans yelling things like "Jagr - go home you pussy" etc.
All of a sudden, Kevin Stevens was in my face. I immediately got half in front of him and asked for his autograph, and what did he do? He half cracked me in the face (which got me out of his way).
I didn't care much (it didn't bruise or hurt) - I thought it was cool that I had a story with Kevin Stevens.
I told my uncle in Pittsburgh the story. He told his sister. She told her friend (Mario Lemieux's accountant) the story.
A week later, I have a letter from Lemieux in my mailbox (return address blacked out). Check it out.

Awesome. I can't say I'm much of a fan of Super Mario, but he's still one of the greatest and that's just cool. Also, anything positive about hockey gets some love from me.
