He said we needed to talk. So we sat on his bed in the dark to talk. He listed off all of the things he's scared of in our relationship. I took the hits, commented where it was necessary and patiently waited for him to finish. I listed what I'm scared of in our relationship. Next thing I know, he's telling me he's just realizing that I am perfect. He's trying to make me believe that in our relationship - not in life - I am perfect. But I'm not even close. Yeah a lot of the time my reactions stemmed from his jealousy or lack of self confidence, or even over dose of self confidence; but not everything. I told him over and over to stop saying that, because its not true. But he wouldn't listen. He just got more and more pissed.
Me telling him what I was scared of wasn't an attempt to get off the hook for my fuck ups. Not in any way, shape, or form. I was simply telling him what i'm worried about. But that's fine. Now our relationship hangs from one single thread and I'm not sure what should happen with that thread. I mean, should we keep jumping around and see how much it will hold? Should we just cut it and end this thing we worked so hard for? Or should we hold each other and brace for impact so that if it breaks, we will be stronger because of it?
I'm really not sure.

This is my first post. Go ahead and -2 it all you want. This just had to come out of me.

And for the love of GOD, stop making excuses for sucking before anyone even TELLS you you suck.

nice post, think lot of us guys do have a problem of putting girl friends on pedal stools. we only do it because we really like the girls we are with - whats the other choice - say that the last partner we had was better?

Easiest solution, loose the emotional baggage! easier said than done but works.

Lose the guy, I don't know how long you've been together, but any man who says, "We need to talk." probably has ovaries.

Keep posting. People who can construct a coherent sentence or two are usually welcomed here with open orifices. Paragraphs are good, too.

Flee. It's hard to leave something into which you've put a lot of time and effort, but any person who insists you are perfect and gets mad when you deny it is a freak. That doesn't show the kind of self-worth and realism needed in a good relationship. Sorry.

Sorry to hear it...

If it's worth holding onto, you will. You have to stop and try to understand if what you have is worth sticking around for.

Marge: Homer, couldn't we pawn my engagement ring instead?

Homer: Now, I appreciate that, honey, but we need one hundred and fifty
dollars here.
