After seeing the horror show in russia last week I could not concentrate one iota at work yesterday because it was my sons first day at daycare. Its a little school with about 100-150 kids there at any given time so I doubt that any terrorist would find it to be a suitable target.
But that didnt stop my mind from envisioning a thousand different scenarios of chaos like a fire, earthquake, or a freakin' asteroid going through the roof.
Back in the day nothing would really faze me enough to make me think twice about repurcussions, stitches, broken bones, crashed motorcycles, blowing off work to get high, none of these things ever slowed me down enough to ever even consider my own mortality. I think watching my son being born automatically registered my own eventual demise, its a shame we cant all watch ourselves being born so we dont piddle away so much of our lives trying to figure out what is important or not.
Even now that I recognize my mortality, I wouldnt hesitate for a split second to throw my life away like one of those flyers you find under your windshield wipers when you come out of the grocery store to try and protect my boy. (yeah its a *gasp* run-on...go ahead and bust my nuts, i dont care)
So thIs is where real fear sits for me, knowing that the world is filled with broken glass, uncovered electrical sockets, pedophiles (aka teachers/coaches/uncles), drunk drivers, lyme disease, pit-bulls, skateboards, AIDS, mercury, matchbox cars (big enough to swallow=should be outlawed), e-coli burgers, cults, Dick Cheney, too much chocolate, lawn darts, mini-bikes and that at some point I will not be there to shield him.
Thats why your dad was such a stress case.

Oh, and shut the fuck up, KoolMang. You're a fucking insecure douchebag. So insecure, that you have to make up shit about other people in a lame attempt to make your own pathetic existence, if you can even call it that, look at least a little better. So do us all a favor and go shoot yourself or something.

Aw, that baby is adorable. And while I can't quite sympathize (having no children myself) I can agree that the world is indeed a scary place.

Aww, your kid's wicked cute! Also, I kinda know how you feel. I don't have a kid of my own yet, but I have a four year old brother and sister. (I'm 19... yeah, huge gap) Still though, I worry about them... but hey, they bounce, ya know? Haha, they've hit their heads soooooo many times... gotten a bunch of scrapes, etc. You'll get over it once you notice just how much they bounce. Heh, my little brother is freakin' CRAZY. He scares the crap out of people so many times, cause he loves to jump. (he's pretty good at it to) So yeah, we'll be talking or something, and he'll just run and jump off the friggen' porch or something. Haha, he's so much like his big bro! Yeah, good luck with your kid though! :D

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel your pain. My son will be a year old on Sunday. He started daycare last week. It's very rough. You just want the world to be rainbows and butterflies for your kid.

Cute father. Does he monitor you when you're on the internet, or do you sneak out of your crib at night and get on when he's asleep?
