It builds up slowly. It takes hours to get to this point. Why couldn't it have been released earlier? Why did I do so many?
I'm at the brink of self-control. The force is now unbearable. I grip my desk to raise myself to my feet. SHIT!
The feeling is completely different now. It's worse. I'm not going to make it. I want to run, but I can't.
The first step almost does me in. I've got to establish a gentle rhythm if I want to make it. The second step is better than the first...but still horribly uncomfortable.
Each of the forty-seven steps to my destination is a test of mind over matter. My brain over my body. How powerful is the mind over the laws of nature...physics...science?
A woman passes by as I struggle to my goal. I try my best to not let what's going on inside me show on the outside. I can tell she knows though. Is it my eyes? Is my pace or the way I walk giving me away?
I can see the door now. Each painful stride brings me closer to release.
I push the door open. The hydraulic cylinder whines as it signifies my nearing my final destination.
There it is. Less than ten steps to freedom from this burden. The white glossy finish combined with familiar smells and sounds creates a Pavlovian response that almost sends my body over the edge barely too early. I stop momentarily to regain control.
Three steps...I grasp the small metal zipper.
Two steps...I can feel cool air rushing underneath my humid clothing.
One step...I am exposed to the elements.
Zero...I have answered nature's call. The stream combined with the white background creates a lime-colored appearance. My entire being sighs with relief.
The pressure is released. Ecstasy.
