I will preface this post by stating that I realize that the jury is still out on whether MAM is a joke by Maddox or another fan or not. If it is real, this letter stands as is as my statement against MAM. If it is fake, then I am an idiot. Thank you.

TO: Beth Robbins and those who organize, support, and run Mothers against Maddox (MAM)
FROM: A concerned citizen who believes in free speech
This morning as I browsed some of my favorite web sites, I saw that another poster on a forum that I frequent mentioned that another of my favorite web sites, Maddox, was not on-line. I did not think much of it at first, as web sites go down periodically for maintenance and other issues. As I read the thread further, I saw mention of your organization. I browsed your succinct site and did not like what I saw.
As I stated in the beginning of my letter, I am a 100% supporter of free speech. I also believe the freedom of speech ends when the freedom of others is impeded upon. Maddox writes his own opinions in a humorous way on an un-sponsored website that has no backing by any other group or organization. It is safe to say that Maddox is merely stating his point of view on different topics and no one else's. To any intelligent adult, his columns about committing suicide, littering, and child abuse are clearly satirical. Granted, many adults will not find his satire and type of humor amusing.
It is within your rights as an American citizen to have the MAM organization and website, but why do you choose Maddox? A search in Google brings up 104 million results for the word "porn" on the internet. "Maddox" brings up 660,000. Most of these have nothing to do with the website that you are protesting. It seems to me that your time would be better spent fighting the more prolific of these two subjects. Pornography on the internet poses a MUCH greater threat to children than Maddox statistically and practically.
To Beth Robbins, the founder of MAM, I say: If you are truly concerned about what your son views on the internet and are "shocked to find out that my son had been going to this site on a constant basis," then you should not let your son browse the internet without supervision. If this is impossible for you, then you should reconsider how you are raising your children. Your number one priority as a parent should be to guide your children in their lives. If you want them to accept and adopt certain morals and points of view that you have, then you will have to be involved heavily in their lives. Letting your child run rampant on an unfiltered internet at age 14 is a great way to have all of your training go in one of his ears and right out of the other one. He is a teenager. He does not want to do what his parents say. He wants to do what is "cool." To a teenager, Maddox can seem "cool" because he is unorthodox and irreverent. If you do not want him exposed to this, then do something about it. You should not be so concerned about every other child in the world if you cannot do what it takes to keep your own child out of trouble.
In conclusion, I agree with the principles of what you are doing. It is your right to protest any public information if you disagree with it. However, I disagree with the object of your protest. Your time, money, and effort would be much greater spent protesting something more threatening. Thank you for your time.

I doubt Maddox will let his site get taken down by this BS... but it's the principal that counts here.
+2 because Beth Robbins gives nice ladies like Ashlee, Kristen, and Val (etc.) a bad name.
(Note: If you're name was not included in the above list of women, and it should have been, feel free to add it on there in your mind. I just picked three ladies off my list of cool Uber girls.)
