I just got back from a trip and as usual, I was running late for the airport. Without even thinking about it, left my Swiss Army knife on my keychain. It wasn't a huge deal, the TSA people were quite professional about it, but they did confiscate my knife and it slowed the line down which is the last thing anybody needs. Then there was the time I wore my hiking boots on the flight because they take up too much room in the luggage - good times there.
So when, I caught the last little bit of a news story about new security guidelines at airports on the way home from work, I decided to hop online and check it out.
We're planning a trip over Christmas so I just wanted to know what was going on. I found the TSA website and there was a link on there to the new security guidelines. I'm not sure now if I want to go anywhere over Christmas or not. I mean, this just seems like a bit much and it's usually pretty cold that time of year. I'm just not sure if this is really necessary and I'm starting to think that the terrorists really did win if this is the kind of world we are leaving for our kids. Take a look at this, I'm sorry if the picture is too big. I took a screen print of the website because I didn't think anyone would believe it otherwise.
