How in the world is "Cthulhu" pronounced, you may ask?
"The best approximation one can make is to grunt, bark, or cough the imperfectly formed syllables Cluh-Luh with the tip of the tongue firmly affixed to the roof of the mouth. That is, if one is a human being. Directions for other entities are naturally different."

Anyone want to venture a guess how many people actually try to replicate this noise upon reading/hearing the above description?
It is for this reason that I created my own abstract alien name, and will (starting tomorrow) insist that everyone call me by it.
Hcklkn.
That's right, no vowels.
You can create the noise by pressing your tongue against your partially open teeth and throat-talk the word "Thalkin".

All I can say is that when I am sitting around reading some H.P Lovecraft, I kind of skip over the word. I know it's there, I know what it is reference to, however I just skim over it.

I thought it was "Cah-THOO-loo".
I second that.

Anybody ever see that episode of the Superman cartoon series where he had to get Mxlsptnk to say or write his name backwards?
