Well, I went to see High Fidelity on Friday night at 8:30. Unfortunately for me,
the 8:30 show was sold out as was the 9:30 show. I ended up getting tickets for
the 10:30 show which meant that I was already in a bad mood. To waste some time
before the movie, I went across the street to Borders and looked at magazines
for a while. Around 10:00 when I walked out of Borders, snow was falling from
the sky into such wind that it was blowing sideways and up. This was not a good day.

Fortunately for me, High Fidelity turned out to be a really funny movie. It had
its annoying points, but for the most part, the movie made me laugh regularly.

The main character, John Cusack, is a record store owner who has some wacky
friends and a bankroll of ex-girlfriends. He has this psycho ex who leaves him
for the stud, Mister Shawshank himself, Tim Robbins. Then he tries to win her
back. That's pretty much the whole story.

In the meantime though, there are a lot of goofy scenes including the alltime
winner: fat guy dancing. If you know nothing else, know this: if you want to
get laughs in a movie, have a fat guy dance. Nothing better than that.

The disappointing parts of this movie were the plot and the ending. The story
was very funny, but not a quality story. The ending was pointless. They may
as well have just said, "This movie is going know where, we are going to end it now"
because that's what they did.

This movie is worth seeing just for the scene where Tim Robbins goes to meet
John Cusack in the record store. Quality American humor.

Rating: 4.0/5.0

Great movie. Would've been -2, but you did say a few good things.

It's a bloody good story -2 for suggesting otherwise

+2 for an ok review except the entire first paragraph.

-2 for failing to mention Jack Black at least once as he fucking rules.

+1 for giving it 4/5 that's not a bad score.

+1 because John Cusack is one sexy mofo.

As I got up in front of them, I felt an intoxication that had nothing to
do with alcohol. It was the intoxication of being a public spectacle.
