Today I only had one class - psychology. I had to take this course in order to get my future certificate to transfer to university. Anyway, today we had an incredibly stupid lesson:
It started out with the teacher showing us a video of some woman going through flashing images to see how she reacts to ones shown in her right hemisphere, or her left. Anyway she acted fucking dopey throughout it, trying to create comedy, I was like WTF? It was painful to watch because of this ugly bitch with curly black hair, which was the style in the 80's for adult women. Then she stopped the video. Then she had some chick volunteer for a thing where she turns up slowly a song on a cd player, and says "Can you hear it?" repeatedly. Then some taste test, WOW, smell is a factor in taste? I never knew!
Let me use an example of why psychology sucks: spanking. Conservatives would have you believe that it's essential to promoting family values, and restoring discipline in our kids. Psychologists would have you believe that it can lead to substance abuse, social anxiety, and all the bad shit. I take a bit of both, but use my own mind, to say that spanking is wrong because you're smacking your kid's sexual area, and that's fucking incest.
Like Maddox says, but I elaborate on, psychology leads to pseudo-intellectuals. "Wow, you know when you're doing that, this part of your brain is receiving signals from that part!" DAMMIT, LEMME ENJOY MY POUTINE!
Psychology is basically the obvious, and some people decided to elaborate on it and get degrees and become famous. If I smash my hand against a wall, it'll be painful.
Give me my PhD!

There's nothing worse than a fucking amateur psychologist who tries to tell you what's wrong with you when YOU DIDN'T EVEN FUCKING ASK and use it to make whiny-assed judgements without actually getting to know you.

This class was a complete waste of time. And just wait until you get a girlfriend who's had one class of basic psychology -- that she failed: "You want to got out with your friends tonight instead of staying with me watching Bridget Jones's Diary because your lack of confidence makes you avoidant toward responsability. I just pulled that out of my ass but since I had psychology class I'm right. Let's communicate."

What I love is the scientific terminology. Psychologists and MD's can make up a name for just about anything. Have green spots on your testicles? There's a scientific term for that. Old and have green spots on your testicles? There's a term for that too! Old and Jewish and have green spots on your testicles? Afraid there's a term for that also.

could never understand why psych classes didnt cover useful stuff like
"Body language and exploiting it for sexual gratification"
"Techniques for hitting parents up for money while a student"
"Erogonous Zones: theory and practice"
etc etc
