Warning: rant.
Do you remember Indiana Jones and its two sequels? What about Star Wars?
Have you taken the time to attempt to re-live The Who? What about the Rolling Stones? Have you ever noticed the originality of this music?
Even music in the 80s had talent. We had excellent electronic music - with heart. We had "The Cars" as the 80's Led Zeppelin. We had hair bands - a genre written off so badly today due to image, while the talent of these musicians was through the roof. Even in the early 90s, during the decline of talent, we had alternative (REAL alternative) come out and crush previous genres. Liked or not, it was a unique form of music.
Have you noticed the trend my pathetic generation has taken? Currently, we're in a copy-cat generation gap.
We've lost 99% of our ability to think of creative ideas. Have you turned on the TV lately? Most (if not all) movies out right now suck cock. Why is this? Because they're all sequels. This isn't the problem; the problem is that they're sequels released about 15 minutes after the original. We'll get a trilogy in as many years (if not less). Remember Die Hard, and how long we had to wait for sequels for that?
If they're not sequels, they're remakes. Think about it - what good fucking reason for all that's useless have we made a movie about Starsky and Hutch? In all honesty, what's next, Chips? Laverne and Shirley? HAPPY DAYS?? I wouldn't doubt that one.
I never saw any of the Lord of the Rings. I bet they're good - I've followed Peter Jackson since "Bad Taste." But I haven't made the time yet, probably because they were all filmed at the same time and "mass produced" in a "timely manner."
"The" bands. I got an idea, let's take two guitar chords, some ill-tuned equipment, and an ugly foreigner. Then we'll have him dance around the stage WISHING he was Mick Jagger. What kind of dumbass INVASION is this.
"Cuz ya look so fine andIreallywannamakeyamine (single chord,single chord,single chord)" - yep. Sounds just like The Who's early days. Right. Live at Leeds baby.
Whether you like these bands or not, their ideas are not original - they're borrowed. There is absolutely no heart in this music. It's phony, staged, and arranged. Not genuine.
And always in the background, are the blacks that take white music without asking, and babble overtop of it.
I'm sure there's a legitimate population against the war - and I respect all of your opinions. But have you really examined these anti-war protestors? A good portion of them are trying DESPERATELY to recreate Vietnam due to the fact that their middle class cushy upbringing lacked any form of serious challenge or hardship.
- A girl my age holding a sign showing a picture of a big snizz that reads "The only Bush I trust is my own."
- A gay art school student holding a sign that says "No Terrorism: No War." Need I comment on the irony of this statement?

yeah there is alot of copycat bullshit thrown in our faces but there is a whole scene going on out there beyond the easily accesible stuff that you talk about that doesnt suck
you can always go on the counter-attack and make your own movies/music that dont rip anyone off
