The air in the club was thick, hot, wet. Chris parted the scene with his hands together in a wedge, offering an occasional ignored "excuse me." A set of eyes against the opposite wall caught his.
Nick cleared his throat and stared at the ground, softly rubbing his nape. With his head bowed he could see Chris approaching; despite the sea of dyed-black hair and the dim light, Chris stuck out as the only body in motion.
"Hey! Nick, what's up?" Chris smiled.
"Oh, hey! I... didn't think I'd see you here." Nick feigned he hadn't noticed Chris until he spoke.
"Yeah," Chris paused. The situation was comfortably awkward. Nick tried desperately to fight the tumult within his abdomen.
"Hey, um, I was wondering..."
"Coffee?" The two spoke simultaneously and broke the tension with laughter.
"Yeah, that would be really nice. I know this rad café."
"I'll drive."
An assuring glance was shared for an infinite moment. They made their way towards the glowing EXIT sign.

Did these people know each other before?
How did they know each other's names?
Were they meeting for a date? If so, why did they not expect to see each other?
Why did they leave the hot nightclub filled with alcohol to get coffee?

This was well written and conveyed emotion quite well.
