I've noticed a recent hemi revival. You got yourDodge Ram Hemi, Durango Hemi, that Chrysler (300M or whatever that is) Hemi, and now (Drumroll.......) Dodge Magnum. I don't know what genius came up with that "bright" idea, but I just don't see the justification for that crime against automobile industry. I don't see who the target consumer is. Lead-footed soccer moms, aging hippies trying to look cool, college students who want to transport a lot of beer in a hurry??? Ram is better for that. If squeezing a Hemi into a car was supposed to save it or make it cool we woul've witnessed other abnormalities: Hemi Civics, Hemi Pinto or maybe Hemi Yugo. My point is the Magnum is useless, stick to something you do best and do it better, Hemi Ram that is.

You are way off base. People like powerful engines, and they don't care that gas is getting expensive either.
I just had a discussion with a Chrysler employee about that very same issue. The marketing morons thought that some 15% of the buyers of those cars would opt for the HEMI. What is the demand? 50%+
Someone needs to be fired....
So your arguement falls horribly flat when 1 out of 2 buyers of these cars wants a HEMI in it.
Who wants them? Nearly everyone.

I disagree with you a bit, but gearhead post = +1. The magnum is just a throwback to the stationwagon. IMO. It reminds me of a big body old merc for some fucking reason...

yeah, what's up with the magnum? looks pretty stupid to me... one thing is for sure- the only magnum i will ever buy are the ones you put on your dick.
