This is really an apology to the great and wondermous leaders of Ubersite who went to all the trouble to arrange UberMadness only to have a ridiculous amount of people drop out of it. Well, while I don't know about the other users, I can tell you that I had a reason. Notice I don't claim it is a good or valid or legitimate reason, just a reason. And I'm going to tell you what it is.
I am in Japan. I keep wanting to write a post about how great it is to be here and how wonderful all the people are, but dammit, I've been sick. I am working on a Master's Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language, and I'm in Japan to do my teaching practicum. I arrived in Japan on Sept 3rd. Sept 8th I got sick. Details are unimportant and unnecessary. Not only was I sick until about two days ago, but I haven't had internet access until about two days ago. The details of that are also unimportant and unnecessary. Suffice it to say that I now-obviously-have access to the internet. So, here it is:
Bart, JMG114, Razor, etc: I apologize. I missed UberMadness. So sorry. Gomen Nasai. (I tried writing it in hiragana but it didn't show up properly in the preview.)
Now maybe I'll get to writing that post about how great Japan is...

I am in the country-side a little outside of Kobe. Between Kobe and Osaka, it's a small town called Miki. I'm teaching at a University here, the uni is called Kansai Kokusai Daigaku, or Kansai University of International Studies (found on the web at kuins.co.jp I think). Small town, small people, teeny-tiny apartment, HUGE office. My office is about half again (1.5 times) as big as my apartment. And my apartment has a shower and kitchen. It's so sad.

Aw, too bad. But let's put it this way--
In round 1, you faced Timmah. The winner would have had to face me.
So, technically he's going to take the beating, not you.

Japan is the place to be, no doubt about it. Where abouts in this fine land are you?
