I went to a wedding tonight. Serious ceremonies like that are the perfect environments for my overactive imagination to shift into overdrive. Jesus peeled his arms from the cross and popped his neck, back, and knuckles because he has been stuck in that catholic church for quite some time now. Saint what's his name took his staff and waved it around while crying tears of blood, and the organ player was a slave chained to the floor.
The reception reminded me of a High School reunion. Music, easily made finger food, and ego-fattened drunks who hide behind their transparent walls until the alcohol kicks in. A celebration of ignorance. It didn't seem to be about the bride and grooms' venture into love and commitment, it was about who could distract themselves the most from the pain and suffering most likely inflicted on themselves by themselves. Call me a cynic, but all I saw was animated flesh in its' primate splendor. By the way, Jesus hung on his cross-seemingly defeated and outnumbered in his designated little corner in the fellowship hall. A sort of ironic sarcasm that is difficult to translate into words, but in the situation, all one had to do is look in that direction to absorb its strangeness.
I hate the masks we wear, painted in drab factories of discontent by slaves who make minimum wage. It is a slap in the face of discovery, and amazement of life. Stop hiding, wake up and tell me what that screaming whisper is saying that happens to be drowning in the paranoid insecure delusions you've forced upon it. It knows more about you than you do. Entertainment is an opiate; a mind-numbing pacifier. What are we running from? What are we avoiding? What is so damn scary that we spend nearly every moment of every day avoiding silence and stillness? If this doesn't apply to you, forgive me, but I find myself succumbing to the lie.

yeah, i did kind of take a different angle toward the end, but i always seem to do that. uber doesnt take well to philosophical musings, uber doesnt take well to poetry, uber doesnt take well to anything with emotional content.....wtf DOES uber take well to? oh yeah, funny stories. sorry, i ran out

It is unfortunate, but übersite usually doesn't take well to philosophical musings. I thought this started off strong, but then got a little disoriented. Made me smile because I have a better idea of the context already.
