With one swift motion, he unsheathed his 12" Bowie hunting knife. He jabbed the end into the top of his arm, and dragged the blade through his skin all the way down to his wrist. The wound immediatly opened up and showered his face and chest with blood.
Working quickly, he snatched up a lemon and tore it in half. Without a moment to lose, he squeezed the acidic lemon juice all over his bloody wound.
He whimpered in pain.
He knew he was about to lose consciousness.. He had to focus. He grabbed a nearby bottle of vinegar and liberally applied its contents across his stinging wound.
Over and over he shrieked... and with his last few ounces of energy he began clawing at his burning wound with his ragged, dirty fingernails.
He collapsed in a heap, in a growing pool of his own blood.
Moaning from the terrible pain that held him in an iron grip, his eyes teared and he weeped as he felt his life slip away from him. The yelps grew softer with every passing moment, and it wasn't long before he passed away.

"stinging wound" wasn't wretched enough to plus2. The rest was very vivd and I cringed a fair ammount, but I read the words "stinging wound" and my mind was cast back to nettles and wasps, then my playful childhood, then I wasn't scared or disgusted anymore.
