This morning -- while I was attempting to beat my all-time record for work tardiness -- I watched Charlie Gibson interview Ann Coulter on 'Good Morning America'. She was peddling her new book "How To Talk To A Liberal (If You Must)".
In typical Ann Coulter fashion, she proceeded to spew out her normal venom:
- Democrats are unpatriotic
- you can't reason with a Liberal
- the poor beleaguered Conservatives have not had a real voice in the Media until now
- the war in Iraq is -- to date -- a tremendous success
- bla bla bla Democrats suck bla bla bla Liberals are pussies bla bla
It was still pretty early, but I swear I heard Charlie Gibson say "what the fuck?" ... but don't quote me on that.

Anyway, after arriving at work fashionably late (and turning off my excel-spreadsheet "looks like I'm at work" screensaver http://www.ubersite.com/m/46974 ), I decided to go online a read a few chapters of Ann's new book.
Yeah, I agree with Charlie: WHAT THE FUCK???
The opening of Chapter 1: "Historically, the best way to convert liberals is to have them move out of their parents' home, get a job, and start paying taxes. But if this doesn't work, you might have to actually argue with a liberal. This is not for the faint of heart. It is important to remember that when arguing with liberals, you are always within inches of the "Arab street." Liberals traffic in shouting and demagogy."

OK, if you're a die-hard Conservative, I'm sure this is fucking funny. But for me, it's just more of the same idiotic foaming-at-the-mouth ranting that I'll grown to expect from Coulter.
After 1 1/2 chapters, I had to stop. I can't understand how she can think like this. I can't understand who would agree with her.
She should have just saved the time and effort, and typed 368 pages of "ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ROFLCOPTER ...." It would make more sense ... and probably would get better reviews.
Now before you brand me as a bleeding-heart Republican hater, let me say that I try very hard to listen to -- and understand -- the Conservative philosophy. After all, I live in Texas ... and work in a corporation that is 98% Republican. I have learned to tolerate, respect, and even befriend right-wingers. I admire anyone who *intelligently* voices their opinion -- even if it's fucking crazy ... err .. I mean, even if goes against my own beliefs.
But Ann Coulter? She's crazy. Evil. Deranged. Malevolent. and Stupid.

On a slightly related fucked-up side note, I was having dinner with a large group of friends (and strangers) this weekend -- and one of the guest was very outsssssssssssssspoken and very Republican gay man. I don't really get gay Republicans (I'll save that for a later post) .. but he proceeds to announce to the entire table "I love Ann Coulter. I would go straight for her."
At that moment ... all I could think was "What the Gay?"
Damn Übersite for introducing this shit into my head.
