I don't try and get involved in US politics. Most of what I know I see from 60 minutes, the Daily Show and internet flash cartoons, so thats very little. So this post has nothing to do with politics at all, just one of its figures.
But I have recently seen something that pushed many of my buttons in a way that I cannot fathom.

Bill O'Reilly released a book about parenting and raising children. Now, I am not a Bill O'Reilly fan, but I am a huge Bill Parcells fan, and if Bill Parcells wrote a book about parenting, I'd call him full of shit. So, Mr. O'Reilly, on the subject of your parenting book, i am calling you full of shit.
I personally feel he just likes to see his name on everything, something that can be proven with this books title, "The O'Reilly Factor For Kids!*: A Survival Guide for America's Families". I'm pretty sure Bill gets a big stiffy whenever he sees "The O'Reilly Factor" and "No Spin Zone" in bold red print, but i digress.
*(The, For Kids part is in italics, that makes it fun.)
What I am ranting about here is the total image change, It looks as if he wants to turn into Dr. Phil as well as a political big-talker, to grab the youth and suck them into his agenda. So his fans don't have to just think Bill O'Reilly they can live Bill O'Reilly.
"He lays bare the unvarnished truths about sex, money, smoking, drugs, alcohol, and friends. What he has to say about these issues may very well surprise you. He offers coping devices for those enduring a divorce, struggling with teacher, parent, or sibling relationships, and planning their futures. He also shares wisdom on such subjects as death, politics, and God."
Let me give a quick analysis of the topics he covers,
Sex: He lost his virginity at 20, you'll learn more about sex from a Dungeon Master than Bill O'Reilly
Money: Something he was never short of
Smoking, drugs and alcohol: Things he has never done.
Death: Something he has never done although many wish he has
Politics: Probably his main motivation for writing the book
God: Yeah, right.
So, essentially, his survival guide isn't really a survival guide, its an avoidal guide, because he hasn't indulged in anything nor has he needed to survive anything.
All of this can be replaced for my general disgust at his attempt to steal someone elses image. Who are you trying to fool, Bill O'Reilly?

O'Reilly isn't nearly as bad as people somehow think he is. Coz is better, so I will +1 with your view on that. But I'm guessing that O'Reilly probably would agree as well.... You call his show and ask him what he thinks of Bill Cosby and find out.

This reminds me of the Reverend James Pizzarelli (Piss-arelli to his adversaries) here in little old Long Island. We have this asshole minister, who doesn't have kids of his own, who writes parenting column in the local paper. He pisses off every mother around here, no one thinks any of his ideas are worth the paper their printed on, and he's a fucking asshole. Oh and he advocates putting "problem children" in the military to learn discipline. Gee thanks, Bush just sent my son off to Baghdad death because I caught him masturbating to internet porn. No thanks, dipshit.
