1. Many children experience mental health problems that interfere with normal development and functioning.
2. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, is the most common pediatric behavioral disorder.
3. 70% of those with ADHD as a child continue to have it as an adult.
4. The defining behaviors involve a persistent pattern of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
5. The prevalence of ADHD in school-age children is approximately 7%.
6. There is a male to female affliction ratio of approximately 6:1.
7. Evidence suggests that the cause of ADHD is a neurotransmitter dysfunction (involving dopamine and norepinephrine) impairing inhibitory systems.
8. Symptoms typically worsen in group settings.

ADD doesn't exist anymore. ADD used to be different than ADHD, but just recently they merged them under one name. ADHD.

I was told I had ADD which is pretty much the same thing minus the hyperactivity. I was told to go get a diagnosis blah blah blah. Never did though. I found a much easier way of dealing with it.

Yeah, I realized I what I was doing wasn't much better than koolmang. But, I can't fucking win. I -2'd people's entire history, that wasn't really fair. So, I just continue rating shit how I think it should be rated.

Don't worry about it. But doesn't ADHD strike you as a polite alternative to saying your son is a fucked up piece of shit? Just imagine the conversation:
Teacher: Your son set fire to a table today. He was caught selling his medication to junior pupils and verbally and physically abused a teacher. Me. Then he killed my dog.
Parent(true response): What can I say? I'm a bad parent. When his father rolled off my unconscious body and staggered out of my life, I never imagined I'd have to bring up this little sack of shit as a result. And so I don't.
Parent(actual response): What can I do? Its ADHD. <shrugs>
