This is not how I planned to make my debut on Ubersite. I have been lurking in the shadows for several weeks now reading and getting a feel for Ubersite. Tinkering with a few stories to hopefully post one day. However, I was shoved forward by recent events. This obsession with the word rape, I don't care for it. I know this place is the bastion of free speech and I love that. But there is a line here many are crossing. The line of decency. As I have recently read, we have several users on here who have been raped in the past. Does it not cross your mind that this playing around with the word rape could harm someone? I know, then they just shouldn't read the post itself. However, just random scrolling through titles, I am confronted with the word rape several upon several times. One cannot ignore titles, just posts. Is it that truly funny to you people that rape can be used in such a comical way? In essence, rape is far from funny. It damages something inside of you. You will always bear the scar of rape once you have been. The physical scarring may leave but mental will not. One can try to erase memories or suppress them but it is not always possible. Especially when the idea of rape is made into a laughingstock. Now go forth and exercise your right to post whatever you wish. Just I ask of you, try to think before you press submit.

Don't you see? Of course rape isn't funny. Rape is something that you don't tell anyone about. You keep it inside. A dirty little secret.
It shouldn't be so. No one should be afraid to talk about rape. I'm fairly certain there are a lot of women out there right now for whom it would do some good.
And this is why rape should be fair game for jokes as well. Let's get it all out in the open.
I respect your opinion, but I don't agree with it. Ubersite is here for anything and everything that crosses into our demented little minds.

I am not necessarily offended with the rape comments, I posted to just make you think for a second. With no other purpose than that. You can take what you will from it. I don't care. If you -2 me, this was just a rant, nothing i care about. I don't go online to specifically find decent people. I go online to interact with all types. If I happen to be compassionate, then so be it.
