I'm sure everyone has heard Satan's (aka George Bush) reference to his belief in a "Culture of Life". What exactly is a culture of life? As opposed to say... a culture of death? It seems pretty hypocritical to profess such a love of life and to then go to war. How many 1000's have died to support his culture of life? If all he is saying is that he does not plan to set up death camps that is great. I'd hope that no president would ever do that.
I seriously doubt he has any respect for any life. The real question remains, though, what the fuck does 'culture of life' mean?

Culture of life is a term meaning that new/innocent life is undisturbed in its process of growth. An unborn child is incapable of making a decision for itself, and should be given the opportunity to do so.
A soldier makes a decision to put him or herself into harm's way in the name of defending the innocent, making a living, or getting money for college. Death is a risk that you take when you join the military. I know, I served for nine years.
A killer makes the decision to destroy life. In any society, that decision is, and should be punished. Should it be punished by death? I would say that it depends on the situation. I'm not entirely pro-death penalty.
Basically, what it means is protecting those who are unable to protect or defend themselves.

Really though, political commentary aside, the question still stands. I have no idea what the phrase 'culture of life' is supposed to mean. Is it just like saying something simple like, "I like pie." Or is supposed to be deep and rhetorical like, "Knowledge is good." [Yes that is from Animal House.]
Well I suppose both of those are overstatements since they are complete sentences and 'culture of life' is just a pseudo-object. But, what is it supposed to mean? Does no one actually know? I'm not saying I have the answer, which is the real reason I posted this. Does anyone have the insight?
