Bob had trouble sleeping in the Falcon 10 as it soared through the air at thirty thousand feet. Not because he felt crammed in the confined fuselage, but because he still had a small amount of distrust towards Dick, that, and the decision to leave Amy when their relationship was at such a critical, and volatile point, made Bob very uneasy.

The trip went by quickly for Bob, waking up periodically, never quite reaching deep sleep, but enough to leave him feeling refreshed by the time they landed. During the plane ride, Dick did his best to keep Bob calm and relaxed, telling him what airport they were landing at, the suite he would be staying in, and explaining the processes of some of the tests he wanted to run. To Bob the entire trip felt very surreal.

"Did you get enough sleep?" Dick asked upon exiting the plane, squinting at the bright Nevada sun.

"Probably not, but I feel a little better than I did." Bob replied while yawning, and stretching out his cramped body. He removed his jacket in an attempt to relieve the feeling of confinement.

"You can get some more rest when you get to the hotel you're staying in." Dick explained "It's twelve thirty now, at twelve tonight I'll be by to pick you up." He looked up from his watch, and motioned to a silver 04 Jaguar XK that was parked off to the side. "This is Lucy," the car pulled up perpendicular to the nose of the aircraft "she'll drop you off, and I do believe she has taken care of all the hotel arrangements for you." Dick directed his hand towards the professionally dressed buxom blond, that was stepping out of the vehicle. Bob stared at Lucy, taking in every detail. Around twenty, twenty five, it was hard for him to tell, brown eyes, and very slim despite her perfect chest, obviously fake.

"It's like I've stepped into the damned twilight zone. I mean, seriously dude, what the hell?" Bob groaned, while pinching the bridge of his nose between his thumb and middle finger. "Could you be any more pretentious?" He began staring at Dick with a disapproving expression.

"I know it's a bit much, but when you've worked so hard to get the power that we have, you might as well have fun with it." Dick stared back at Bob "The way I have fun with my abilities is by surrounding my self with beautiful things, cars, jets, women." He stopped and stared at the oblivious Lucy. "And hey, if you need somebody to help you take your mind off of this Amy girl, I'm sure Lucy here would be happy to oblige."

Bob didn't respond to Dick's comment. He walked towards the vehicle and greeted Lucy. "Hi, I'm Bob." extending his hand, he was the exact same height as her, five foot seven.

She held his hand and returned his greeting with a perky southern accent, "So you're this Bob character that Dick's been in a huff about lately?"

"Lucy knows all about what I am, and consequently knows about you." Dick said as he appeared to the right of Bob, leaning up against the car. "She's not like us, but ever since she found out about me, she's been completely infatuated with anything psychic." Lucy blushed and avoided eye contact with Bob. For a moment, deep inside, Bob wanted to take advantage of the offer that Dick had made on Lucy's behalf, but shook it off.

Bob walked around to the passenger side and threw his jacket in the window. "My bike is parked around at the entrance of the FBO, I'll see you at twelve." Dick said as he backed away from the car "Oh yea, Lucy has my cell number if you need to get in touch with me." Giving a nod in Lucy's direction before walking off.

In the car, and on the road, Lucy began explaining what room Bob would be staying in at the Bellagio hotel, and handed him his room key. "Oooo, classy." Bob said with a hint of childish excitement, as he examined the pamphlet that came along with the key. "So, how did you find out about Dick being a psychic?" Bob asked out of curiosity.

"Well, there's not much to tell." Lucy replied, "About two years ago we met in a bar, he said all the right things, you know, every thing I wanted to hear. One thing led to another, and we ended up in his room," she paused to focus on her driving for a moment. "but the entire time I could feel something different, like something was pushing me, in my mind." She began speaking in a lively and more relaxed tone as they made their way onto a main highway. "Any ways, when I was laying beside him after words, he was sleepin and he put his arms around me. When he did that I could see his dreams." She let out a tiny laugh. "It really freaked me out, and it freaked him out too. Apparently at that time he was still having trouble controlling his empathic abilities, and you know how you guys get when you aren't in control of somethin. Well, a few long, and awkward conversations later, I was hooked. I wanted to know every thing."

"So you became his assistant?"

"Yep, I handle his finances, and plan his trips, things like that." She said while smiling at Bob.

"Is that all you handle?"Bob asked warily in an attempt to gain a perspective on the relationship between the two.

Lucy looked at Bob with a knowing smirk. "I used to.... but Dick gets bored easily. He likes the thrill of having such an advantage over normal people." She nodded to her right, towards a distant building, the Bellagio hotel. "So, tell me who this girl is in the visions that Dick got."

"Oh, Amy, well that's a pretty long story." He just wanted to forget about Amy for now. "The short version is, she got in a car accident and died. I brought her back to life. In the process of doing so I hemorrhaged several parts of my brain." He said quickly.

"No shit?" Lucy said in disbelief.

"No shit." Bob responded in a low voice. "I'd rather not talk about it though, if that's okay with you."

"I understand. Well, we're here anyways." She said as she pulled around to the valet. "I already checked us in." She commented while getting out of the car, and handing the keys to the valet.

"Us?" Bob asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm in the room next to your's" she said to Bob over the roof of the car. Bob jogged to catch up with Lucy who was already making her way into the hotel.

They walked in to the main entrance of the hotel together, Bob was staring down at the intricately tiled floor, then up at the glass ceiling. By the time they reached the eighth floor of the hotel, Bob was thoroughly elated he had decided to come.

"Here's your room." Lucy said directing her manicured hand at the door to his right, soon after they exited the elevator. "I'm in this room" she pointed to the door next to his, "if you need anything." She lowered her eyes and stepped dangerously close to Bob whispering in his ear. "Anything at all."

'Why the hell not, don't be such a loser.' Bob's internal monologue screamed. Bob tried to think of a reason not to take advantage of her offer, but he couldn't. In reality he didn't really care about the sex, he just wanted someone to hold onto while he slept. He had been lonely for most of his life, all he wanted now was to feel someone next to him, just something warm to hold onto in the darkness.

He placed his hand on her cheek, and moved her face so that they were eye to eye, not quite sure what to do next. Fortunately she knew what to do next, she tilted her head and moved in to kiss him. She placed her hand on the back of his head and pushed him against the door with her body against his. He fumbled with the mechanism on the door behind his back, desperate not to break contact. When the door finally opened, Bob had to look around to see were the bed was in the unfamiliar room. Once on the large bed, in the luxuriously large room, they disrobed one another, kissing each new part of naked flesh.

After words as Bob lay behind Lucy with his arms around her, and their fingers intertwined, he smiled to himself. For once he didn't feel alone. He finally had someone to hold onto in the darkness.

I would really like some critisism on this, especially the end.

On a side note. Do you know how many freakin pictures of chickens you get when you type, Naked Chick, in to google image search? Alot.

Marge, you being a cop makes you the man! Which makes me the woman -- and
I have no interest in that, besides occasionally wearing the underwear,
which, as we discussed, is strictly a comfort thing.
