Someone posted an article today that was my inspiration for this. Something about the 'Top 100' and pop music and all that shit. Great article so I'm doing my all not to plagarize him.
I'd like to know how Bryan Adams can make a comeback. I didn't think he was that popular the first time around. And yet, he comes out with a song entitled "Life's an Open Road" or something to that effect. Yeah, not to be confused with "Life is a Highway" by Tom Cochrane.
How is it John Melloncamp (or however you spell it) is releasing new material (which isn't TOO bad) yet many popular bands and musicians from the 70's, 80's and 90's are nowhere to be heard? Ok, so Van Halen made a comeback that actually sucked ass. How is that possible? One of the most anticipated comebacks to date and it licks ass. VH used to rock and rock hard. Maybe Mr. Roth needs to make an appearance or two. Motley Crue teamed up again, that was allright but you still need the sex, drugs and depravity that rock once stood for. Anybody remember "Anthrax"? I know all this terrorist stuff is around but that doesn't mean music has to stop.
Whatever happened to the 'Asphyxiation on ones own Vomit' as a means to an end? Fuck this dying of old age crap (only Johnny Cash deserved that reward), I want some rockers to go out in a blaze of glory, a hail of bullets, an orgy of universal proportions. Rockers used to be gods, not humanitarians or crap like that. Fuck this 'Band-Aid' shit, what happened to the 'Family Value's' tour? Sexual depravity, endless drugs and an ocean of liquor, that was a lifestyle for most of those guys and now? Retirement plans, investments, and dentures.
At least AC/DC, Aerosmith and The Rolling Stones are still KIND of rocking. Yes, they are slowing down (a lot) but at least they are still out there, balls to the wall. And then you have U2. Bono, you need to fuck off. Become Prime Minister of the British Aisles or whatever but stop making "music" and I use the term VERY loosely. I have heard Bono stated they never make an album unless they KNOW it's good. Ok, um, you all must have gone tone deaf 'cause the last GOOD album I heard from U2 was the god-damn "Joshua Tree". So I think its time to retire.
Us listeners need to petition the rockers of yester-year and get something decent back into the collective tape deck.

+2 because of all the retards here giving you -2s and saying aerosmith and the stones suck. aerosmith had a bad decade or two, but back when they were new they were a great bluesy rock band. and the latest release of the throwback to their blues roots, the fuckin bobo album, was pretty good.
and the stones, they rule. clearly they've made a deal with the devil to still be alive making them even cooler.
and AC/DC will always put out the same song which is ok because it's a good song.
