Apparently "SPIT" means Spam over Internet Telephony ... who the fuck starts these apathy induced terms simply to portray an image of being in such a hurry that they can't type three/four words. I guess it's ok to use commonly used terms like BRB, FYI but what grates on my psyche like the sound of fingernails across a blackboard is when I'm reading someone´s incohorent rambling (aka post) only to stop half way through and ponder for 732462 minutes, what the fuck IARD or some such means..
My time is precious and the last thing I need to do is decipher useless acronyms such as BBEG (Big Bad Evil Guy), FLGS (Favorite Local Game Store) and YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary). These are in no way words requiring daily usage.
I do have my theories though. I see a forty year old man wearing tighty whities and a wife beater who doesn't realize that the washing machine has been invented, and can be used, and as a result he has stains from at least three types of No Name mustard on it, sitting in front of his computer during one of his few breaks from his six year battle of Dungeons and Dragons that he has been playing for three years with two ten year olds who stop by after school and bring his welfare cheque, and he is desperately trying to randomly find the Olsen Twins in a Chat room where he can hopefully(fingers crossed) hook it up with their sweet bodies.
In addition to the abbreviations, something was needed to express emotion and the smiley was born. It is usually used to indicate that you are joking since we can not hear the voice inflection in a text message. If you had a sense of humor you would stop breathing... Even Microsoft recognizes smileys. If you attempt to type a normal smiley in Microsoft Word, it converts it to the character J ... Ofcourse this too has mutated beyond the simple semi colon + bracket version and now contains all the punctuation characters ... the smileys now actually need to have a nose, eyes, eyebrows, eyelashes, ear drums, phalanges, lips, lipcrust, pupils, iris's and all the 743264237 muscles in your fuckin face...
Another thing that pisses me off to no end are those fuckin h4x0r terms, why the fuck use numbers to represent alphabets.. Are you so gramatically advanced that you now need digits to express yourself ...I'm not staying up all night trying to decode shit only to find out that your cat died or your boyfreind was cheating on you with the local parish.
Here's a favourite acronynm I want you all to give serious thought to though ..
