I was looking to rent myself a video game today, with the nickel I had just made mowing the neighbors lawn. Then, was I walked to the desk, I saw the triumphant face of Joe Lieberman, that asshole. Because a game contained "Gore" I was forced to provide ID to rent it. I'm seventeen, so thats fine, right? No that would be too easy. Because of the incredibly intelligent nature of our good friends at the ESRB, and congress ( For example: Joe Lieberman ) I cannot rent a game containing things far milder then what most teens every day.
Are you fucking joking?
The best argument against my ability to rent this, is: "It will protect me from false things that will make me more violent" and "Shield me from the harsh sickness of this animated, obviously non-real world". Lets be honest here, if your going to give a game an "M" rating for it having drugs in it, you need to look at some sad stats about life today. Half the teens that play this game, can go to the corner and buy the "M" rated substance, never mind having it referred to in a video game. Let god save our children from everyday life.
Every time I play a "super-violent M rated video games" like "Halo", it makes me want to run into to the streets and start beating the shit out of aliens.
The second thing that makes this all so ironic, when I went to purchase this game a week later I was not identified. Ironically enough, same guy at the counter. What a great fucking double standard, assholes.
