Boyz N The Hood was an NWA w/ Easy E song. It was on Easy E's record Easy Duz It, released in 1990. I actually prefer the Dynamite Hack version, but in a post concerning lyrics give credit where credit is due.

Someone asked"who did the rap song to the acoustic guitar" and then they quoted some lyrics to the song. In other words, we were giving credit, where credit is due. Easy-e wrote the song, true, but they were asking who covered it. Dynamite Hack did it.
