Did you notice how good musicians always die prematurely because of dumb mainstream assholes and ignorant people that say shit about them or think that fuckin faggots like Ricky Martin are better than let's say, alice in chains?
Layne Staley, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Cliff Burton, Jimmy Hendrix, just to name a few, may they rest in peace.
i miss good music, fred durst should die after a long long ass ramming season in jail.

Because "mainstream music" put the guns and needles in the hands of said artists.

There are good musicians who don't die prematurely, you just have to look. Nirvana was very mainstream, so I don't see how mainstream music killed Cobain.
And you spelled Hendrix's name wrong you fool!

Hurray for LiveJournal-esque angst bands that nobody ever hears about since apparently their good solely by the fact that you're their only fan! Hurray for random nonsensical ramblings (like this one! How ironic!) from humans who can't put sentences together! Hm...since we have people bashing on garbage lids and dragging chains across the sidewalk and calling that "music," I wonder what will happen next? It's just like art. The empty canvas has been done, random paint flicks have been done, and "angry" attempts to stab and mutilate the canvas have been done. Where do we go from here?

Hm, I don't see much good music in there. But Kobain? etc. etc.? Aren't they the ones who fucked up music? Sure, it all fell after the Beatles, but I remember Nirvana as being the reason why shitty rock music exists. Way to go for simplistic 3-chord melodies! Woohoo! Guess music theory's not so popular nowadays (since everyone's too cool for that)!
I'll be returning to my classical, jazz, opera, bebop, and the blues, thank you very much. I guess in reality William Hung should be hailed as the current King of Music since he epitomizes the bad vocals and need for digitizing everything since apparently people don't know how to sing anymore. Hurray for crappy music!

Good music is being made all the time. This is a boring subject, and a poor attempt at ranting.
Commercial shite is shite, as it's, well, commercial. Middle of the road. Keep everyone happy sort of shite.
ps. my mates dad was the first copper on the scene at Jimi's death.

Hendrix is the only truly talented one on that list, and you spelled his name wrong.

GG Allin died 11 years ago from a heroin overdose, and now look at what punk bands we have. Good Charlotte, Blink 182, and all of the other flaming homos with their shit music about love and crap. If GG Allin were alive today, he would rip all their heads off and fuck their throat holes.

You know, I'm sitting here listening to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and thinking, "shit, these guys are talking about flaming faggots...the biggest flaming faggot in the history of music was also the greatest vocalist in the history of music."
Freddie Mercury and Elton John have more staying power than any singers you listed because they were FUCKING TALENTED.
And as I tell my dad, if you dont like my music, fucking dont listen to it. Asshole...

Layne Staley= heroin overdose
Janis Joplin= heroin overdose
Kurt Cobain= suicide, but killed himself while mainstream
Cliff Burton= died in a bus accident, you dumbshit
Jimi Hendrix= choked on his own vomit...after a drug overdose
There is no indication whatsoever that any of these deaths were triggered by "dumb mainstream assholes". Five minutes of Google search would have showed this to you.
Fred Durst's assramming? Agreed.
However, you, my good sir, are still a flaming idiot. Have a splendid day.

I agree. Music is missing harmony now. There are less instruments and less experimentation. People are dumb as rocks.

There's a very amusing bit by Bill Hicks about this. Look it up. I'm not going to give you the title or where you can find it, because if you don't own every thing he's ever done already you need to.
This point is made very clear INSIDE one band: The Beatles. John and George, the two who were actually worth half a fuck died first. Paul and Ringo were entirely worthless and virtually everything they did sucked.

Well, I don't think they die prematurely because of mainstream, I don't really think they have any link. However, jimmy hendrix and kurt kobain are two of my favorites, but you would be surprised what people are listening to today. Alot more nirvana fans than you think, once you get past the morons listening to rap.

They are all mainstream as you can get. And before some fuckhead says: "yeah, they aren't anywhere near as alternative and non-mainstream as (insert a bunch of shit "underground bands" that scream into a mike and have shit senseless lyrics), I will tell you not to bother.

I honestly think Ricky Martin is cooler than Kurt Cobain. I mean, Ricky was a flaming homosexual, but Kurt was simply the biggest fucking fag around. Jesus, what a queer mofo.

I'd rather die young with potential after having done a few good things rather than doing one or two utterly awesome things and living on the coat tails for years and years.
