Twenty-two
I watched the explosion that would kill the two men from the camera crew erupt from the building. I'd underestimated the power of a gas explosion and was sorry that others might have gotten hurt or killed by that blast but the ends justify the means. I pulled away from the curb and began driving to my next appointment. I'd like to watch the mayhem a little longer but can't afford scrutiny this early in the game and me hanging around here might raise suspicion.
As I drive I take out my list of names and am happy to be able to cross two more from the list. Sixteen of us were sent to that island hell and so I've chosen sixteen to die as retribution. There were certainly more people who knew what was going on but I've decided that as much fun as it might be I can't go around killing forever.
I arrive at my destination knowing that I'm early; I've watched this one too. Jeremy Simmons was also a member of the camera crew but he took it a step further and felt it was also part of his job to belittle and demoralize us. His would not be a quick anonymous death, no; he will experience some of what he did to us before leaving this world.
Twenty-three
Amy definitely looked better when she got back to camp and thanked us for going to find her. Jeff had filled her in on how she ended up in the condition she was, as she could not remember anything after she started running through the rain. We sat around the fire that night enjoying the cool night air and the incredible night sky above us; our conversation consisted of nothing important and never crept close to our current predicament. Again, I held Gina as others retired for the evening; nobody seemed to mind that we'd connected so we did nothing to hide our affections. We didn't stay by the fire much later that night as we were as tired as everyone else but Gina looked up at me and asked me if I would still want to be with her if we got off the island. I told her that we will get off the island and when we do I would take her out on a real date.
We got up the next morning and began our daily rituals of making breakfast, gathering wood and more food, and trying to live. Amy decided to go to the beach to look for mussels, when nobody offered to come along she went alone.
About an hour later we heard a gun shot then what sounded like a man and a woman screaming. Whether in pain, terror, or anger we couldn't tell but the screams quickly halted after two more gunshots. Everyone else was still in camp so we knew it must be Amy that was in trouble. We took off running for the beach unprepared for the sight we'd shortly be seeing.

More anxiousness for what's to come. You sure know how to keep a reader reading.
