oh, then i guess he's not on the Independence. i only heard what ship he was on one time and it was a couple months ago, so you can see how i might have forgotten.
my brother is about to make E-5, and he hasn't even been in for a year. what kind of shit is that? it's takes 4 years to make E-5 in the Air Force and that's only if you do everything right.
anyway, the only stuff i've heard about the Navy was from guys that were in their first term and they only had bad things to say about it. from all the stuff they told me, it seemed like a shitty deal.

Andy. the Indy was Decommissioned a long time ago
Overall, all military kind of sucks until you make E-5
Then unbelievably, it kind of starts getting bearable.
Also what unit you are with.
Andy I started out as a Machinist I worked in the engine room and Brother it sucked.
120 degrees and lots of work and watches.
However they had a "dive Unit" onboard. "E.O.D. guys and five S.E.A.L. Hombres
They were the shit.
A few guys for the engine room and i started working out with them.
I was 22 Andy, was I going to be one of the elite guys? No but buy god I went to dive school
Moreover, everything changed. Life was better; Officers did not give me any shit.

Brian- i'm pretty sure Derek has commited suicide by now. the Navy was quickly driving him over the edge. one day he just stopped posting, so i assumed he'd just jumped off his ship to drown himself.
anyway, i think my brother is on the Independence. i told that dumbshit not to join the Navy, but he wouldn't listen. oh well...
don't join the Navy, people. you'll regret it. if you're hellbent on the military, the Air Force and Coast Guard are your best bets if you want to hold onto your sanity and get the best benefits.

Suprise inspection pussnuts! Ill be looking for wrinkly uniforms, 5 'o clock shadows, and morning hate. Present your anti-freemasonry memorabilia, and secure your doo-rag.

Good Show Derek.
Made me laugh. I live in Jacksonville, Fl, tons of Navy folks out at Mayport, and NAS JAX so I can relate it to the hundreds of navy stories I have heard.

Hey Derek, think about the nice home you can buy because of the Navy, get a home before you get deployed(next time) and then register for soldiers and sailors relief, which gets your interest rate dropped to 6% while you are active. It's your right buddy.
Peace,
STREETPUNK

No hugs only go to those who post funny things.
Derek, join the dark side! After all hatred does lead to it.

To Darth -
Dear Darth,
The name is Derek. Not Dereck. Just thought we should clear up an important issue like that.
Second of all, I am not angry. I just want to make you laugh. So laugh with me now because it
is very funny, no? I feel as if I am full of hatred but really - I just don't know for sure.

Poor Dereck, you seem like an angry person. Somebody wants a hug?

My dad would always tell me about how he'd have to learn to sleep through those deafening booms when planes were catapulted and the like. Hope your bunk isn't near the top. Or near the reactor. Or...
