Recently, there have been a bunch of happenings on Ubersite that have stirred up some controversy. This includes the banning of a bunch of users for actions that are questionable to many people. For the sake of being fair, I'm going to try to shed my usual neutrality stance and use that to address this issue from both sides.

The Banned Users
This group consists of people who have gotten banned by Bart for various things. After reading a lot of KoolMang's arguments, I think I've figured out what most of these guys are pissed about. Here's what I generally read from these guys:
"Bart is a hypocritical banner. He won't ban a regular user for doing the same thing I did. There are no rules on Ubersite, so why does Bart get pissed? We should be able to post anything we want, even if it is a picture of a woman on her period."
The Anti-Banned Users
This group consists of Bart and people who support Bart for banning these people. Normally, these people will say:
"This is Bart's private website that he allows us to use at HIS expense. Try to use common sense when you post things that aren't so overly offensive that it's just appalling. Since you enjoy the luxury of being a member of Ubersite, you can lose that luxury is Bart chooses to take it from you for whatever reason. He is fair enough in that he doesn't ban you for a first, second, third, or sometimes even fourth offense, even after warning you, so stop being dicks. IT'S BART'S WEBSITE! Stop ruining it for everyone else."

To be completely honest with you, I have never had a problem with Bart's judgment when it came to banning people because I've never A) been banned and B) paid too much attention. I do support the argument that you should exercise some common sense when you post and review because this is a public forum. It is important in life to accept the rules and regulations of a community of people if you want to be a part of the community because otherwise it is an anarchy that makes the community fall apart.
The trouble with Ubersite, though, is that there are no set "rules and regulations." All the rules are implied as common sense that most people understand. Most of the banned users understand those rules, but still choose to post as they do. They argue that their bannings are unwarranted since there are no actual rules on the site.
My idea to solve this little problem is: Perhaps Bart could make people accept a "Code of Conduct"-type thing when they register so that there are actual "Rules" on Ubersite. There are OBVIOUSLY already generally accepted rules on Ubersite, whether you like it or not such as putting NSFW on posts that are Not Suitable for Work.
Perhaps people could stop being children about this and come up with a solution to this problem so that other Ubersite users can see some posts that aren't "FETISH SUX BALLZORS!!" or "BART LIKEZ ASSORZZ!!!" It's not helping, and it's just pissing everyone off.
Any ideas?

Problem is, those kinds of posts AREN'T pissing everyone off. For the most part, the best thing ON this site is the hilarity of the truly idiotic and disgusting users, like KoolMang, for instance. Kai and Bart both say that this site was started as a SELF-GOVERNING site, not a site that they would go through and weed occasionally.
Bart is a hypocrite.

This problem can be solved through one, simple, observation: When all of you signed up to use Uber, did it say in your user agreement that Bart could not ban you...NO it didn't. Case Closed.

The thing is that I NEVER got a warning for any of my bannings. When I did get a warning, I'd heed it. When bart said alters are bad, I refrained from making any new ones. That was after I was banned for posting under MickGinny, and I didn't do anything bad afterwards. Then I started that whole "lojope was raped" thing and BLAM, I'm gone, along with everyone else who participated in that little fiasco. He explained that you shouldn't do anything to fuck with uber, post anything illegal, or post NSFW. "Lojope was raped" had no picture, wasn't illegal, did nothing to the site except maybe make it lose some members, who quickly flocked back, and wasn't spam. I never spammed the site with 30 "lojope was raped" posts, or spammed someone's post, but I was banned.
Sepsis was not banned for his little story about lojope, but I was banned for posting with the title "lojope got raped" and nothing in it. Tell me how that's grounds for banning. I have to give him credit for unbanning me in time to submit an Ubermadness entry, but he refuses to unban Spiral, despite him contacting bart and apologizing for whatever he did. Same goes with bargled. He posted ASCII art, and not once did I see him spam. Is it because of his 2 or 3 alters? Stonedsilly had like 7 alters and had a temporary posting ban.
That's my arguement.

Political correctness is bullshit up to the point of when it starts hurting individual's feelings. What gives you the right to post such a thing? It's Bart's webpage, and obviously he objected to the fact that you took an Uberuser who has been open about such an experience and turned it into a cheap tactic to get hits. What did you add to Ubersite with that post? What good did you add to anyone? You didn't, and Bart was bluntly letting you know that that sort of thing won't stand. End of story, shut the fuck up.

Don & Mike made a similar argument about the FCC the other day, when they were talking about Howard Stern's on-air argument with the head honcho over there which we all know was just a huge marketing stunt to advertise his sirius deal.
Without set rules & regulations, they (FCC) are just fining (sic) whoever doesnt fit their own personal agenda. However, in this scenario with ubersite being a privately held website, I still feel that bart can do as he wishes. It's his shit, so he's the boss. You don't like it? Go to fark.com or something. It's not as liberal anyway.
And when this is coming from slowlyrotting's mouth, someone who is probably on the verge of being banned just because I'm an asshole and post pictures of 'Nigger Bibles', +2 everything Flute Boy, and the original poster of the infamous "Cpl. Boudreaux killed my dad..." picture, you know it's the truth.
As they say "The Proof is in the Pudding." Which makes absolutely no fucking sense in this case, but hey, I like that phrase.

Perhaps you forgot what I said about the individual bannings that many people don't seem to understand: I don't give a shit about you. I only know about the ones people make the most noise about. Perhaps instead of going around being a moron like you are, you could email Bart and ask him what the deal was. Or maybe you could tell some people what the deal is and stop being a little bitch. How's that sound?

I think Bart needs to explain to people that there is a line where people forget you are joking and take you seriously. I doubt any of the banned people in real life run around telling people to look at a mutilated vagina or anything, and we have to remember that. Don't give them the attention they crave, don't respond, don't do anything and they might even try to post something worthwhile.

Yanno the banned people are the ones that say he's unfair. They say there shouldn't be bannings at all. Think of why they were banned for a second then, "lojope got raped lolololerly" "i R@pd lojjo lmfaolfgggg" Et cetera. Bart did at one point say what would get you banned, but he never said anything in particular. He also said somthing about Not ever removing posts. An argument about that, was sombody took one user's son's face, and put it on some porn. What if his son happened to stumble across that? Not only that, but it's horribly disrespectful, and depressing to see that.
Some restrictions do need to apply; but not so much that it takes the salt out of soup.

A code of conduct would be good, yeah. But you can't make the uberusers agree to it now, without pissing them off.
Sure you're going to get alot of the "kulmang kan sux0rz my f@ c0k!!11" posts, but you're also gunna have the posts by people like Sideburns. Personally, I think people like mang suck balls, but they also give the site a bit of flavor. Rather than banning permanently, why not restrict the user's ability to post? Banned users get 1 post a day, and 25 reviews a day. They got freedom, but it's in shackles.
