He was finally back in his room. For the first time ever, he had actually been aching to return to that reserve of darkness. Even that day when he had run out into the glare of the unmerciful orb, and he noticed his body falling apart once he got back inside, he was not as nervous as he had been today, on his way back from the forest. Even as he sensed the cords around his limbs loosen that day, and heard the dull thud of old flesh on the wooden floor, he was more curious than frightened.
Today, though, he had something at stake; he was trying to cover something up. They had thought it was a little strange that he wanted to leave the quiet grove so early, but thankfully they hadn't pressed for any reasons. They'd packed up their picnic and put him in his box. On the way back he had heard the muted sliding of the water through the air as the light drizzle continued around him; in fact, the sound of welcome rain had never seemed that noisy and resplendent. It had seemed as if he could hear every single drop of water arc through the air and alight -on the mud, on his chaperones, on the top of his box- delicately, but also frozen in time and amplified by impatience.
He was worried that the severe pounding of his heart along the way may have alerted his fellow travelers to his surreptitious actions, but they did not hear. Perhaps the rain's impacts had guarded him from being heard today, just as its clouds had always guarded him from being burnt by the sun in the past.
All of that was past. Once they closed and locked his door, he pulled out the dainty stowaway, pressed against his hip. Cupping the delicate plant between his large, blunt hands, he wandered over to the corner of the room farthest from the candles, transfixed by its violet gaze, its single yellow eye. It was like having a sun of his own, one he could enjoy and protect, instead of fear and be protected from.
I will not let this one die, he told himself. Before setting it down in a chipped clay pot, lined with cotton and dreams and covered by a porcelain plate painted blue with Japanese fish, he raised it up to his face and inhaled its exotic, familiar fragrance of joy and life. Laying it down onto that former bed of his previous floral companion, he made a dedication to himself and all the solitary ghosts that visited his imagination in times of solitude:
This is the one that will live past the closing of my own eyes. Nobody will find you, little friend. I will protect you from the butterflies and the sun, and when you do grow your own bouquet of thorns, I will take you back to the forest, that you may live in that idyllic paradise of dangerous beauty without fear or worry.
Of course, in trying to save this flower, what he really envisioned was a hope for himself. It was because he did not understand his own nature that this last entry of happiness into his life was destined to die.

Huh? Haha, I just thought you might want to know, and since I don't post anymore I don't really have a way to let people know except AJ, and no one likes AJ anyways.
I mean...go AJ?

Ah. Better yet. Take your time, it generally comes out just a little sweeter that way.
You've got something really fucked up planned, I can tell.

I like this.
But I'm pretty confused. Seeing as you've had some time to think of something, I think you need to post the next part.
Otherwise you can just e-mail me and tell me whats going on.
I'm not very patient.

heyzues: think Tim Burton. everything important will be explained, yes. but do not fall for the belief that a story has to be told in *this* world in order to be relevant to it.

I am so Fucking confused. Is the dude like a zombie or something? What with the dead flesh and the loosening of limbs and such. Or maybe a vampire, an autistic vampire, that's why he's stupid.
This better start making sense or I'm gonna be pissed. If you pull one of those things, were you never really find out what the hell's goin on, and you think you're being clever and "creative". guess what? You're not being clever, you're just being an ass.
Finish the story please.
