There are so many posts about how much America sucks and should be destroyed, and even though they all recieve something along the lines of -2 in rating, there is never a rational or reasonable explanation as to why America doesn't in fact suck and deserve to be destroyed. For this reason, I would like to challenge anyone out there to attempt to explain in a logical fashion why and how America doesnt deserve to be hated worldwide. It doesn't make sense to me how anyone can not hate America, so please explain it. Just because your nation is the strongest and most powerful it doesn't make you the best, and you directly do not benefit in any way from your military supremecy. America is just a cruel kid standing over an ant hill with a magnifying glass, and your potential military control over the world makes you assholes, not the best. So please, explain to me and all of Uber why America shouldn't be despised and hated worldwide... though I doubt any of you will be able to.

I don't like Bush. But, I am tired of everyone acting like he made all the decisions. Everyone in America forgets that it takes an ACT OF CONGRESS to declare war and send the Army, Navy, and Air Force anywhere. The only service the President can send without Congress is the Marines. There are more people to blame for the decisions made over the past four years than the President. How about we start blaming every part of the government.

1) listen, i feel your pain. i understand why our policies over the last 4 years have made you and your countrymen angry. there are a whole lot of people over here that feel the same way you do about the decisions our country has made. Bush has been the worst president eVAR. mind you, WE didn't elect him, the supremely-old-and-crusty court did.
2) it's safe to assume that from your tone and from the demographics of uber that you are either from canada, austrailia, NZ, UK, or an EU country (UK still isn't in the EU is it? or do they just keep the sterling and are a non-currency-bound member?). For you to criticize us for how we use our military power (to enable our multinational corporations to exploit the world) is hipocritical because we enforce your standard of living too. We all live very comfortable lives because kids in bangladesh and everywhere else work for 10 cents a day or whatever. if you live in a country full of white people, which also means that you live in a country where they don't let you pay kids 10 cents a day to sew Nike T-shirts, yet buy the Nike T-shirts (or coffee/electronics/jewelry/petrol/other clothing/etc.), thank our military. And fuck off.

These are always difficult posts to argue, but the fact is that if you don't live here, don't knock it, and if you do live here and don't like the conditions, go somewhere else. No country has control over their government; they all use the same tatics to pull the wool over our heads. We just seem to be open about it. Oh yeah, the picture is hilarious.

America may have been in WW2 but then so was Canada, Australia and a lot of other countries who you probably didn't know exsisted. You didn't even join the war until the end. So don't try and play the ww2 card. Or the vietnam card for that matter.

When I defend the USA, why does anyone always assume I'm American? I'm German, and thankfull that I don't have to live under a dictatorship today, which I mostly owe to the Americans. If the USA had not been drawn into this war, the Allies would have stood no chance of defeating the Axis. In comparison to the number of troops the USA send, the canadian war effort considerably pales, furthermore, Canada (which by the way still was a british colony at that time, albeit only officially!) didn't have the equipment necessary for a modern war (the huge bomberfleets, for example). The Australian forces were utterly defeated by the Japanese and were on the retreat to the main island when the Americans had recovered from Pearl Harbour and begun their campaign. America saved Australia from a japanese invasion. Yes, that's right, the japanese planned to invade Australia, and they almost did it. I believe there were even a few bombing runs targeting Australian cities, but I'm not sure.
You see, while the two nations you mentioned contributed troops, they could not have done it alone and were dependant upon America. The only country that posed a serious threat to Germany was Russia, but without America in the pacific, they would have been encircled by japanese on the west side and germans on the east side. Without the constant bombing runs and sorties of mostly American airplanes, which considerably weakened german economy and Luftwaffe, the Nazis would have defeated Russia. They probably wouldn't have been able to hold it (resistance fighters), but at least they would have repelled the invading soviet troops.

Now, to sum this up, I DO NOT wish to belittle the contributions all the other allied countries have made to this war. Canadians and Australians have fought just as bravely as Americans, but fact is, without America, the war could not have been won, without Canada it could. Oh, befoe I forget, without the british it could not have been won either, (no airbases and base for invasion)
And why the hell do you bring Vietnam up?
