I love travelling, but I've never got anywhere to go. I just like the process of driving/moving around the country. The other day I was on the bus and I was watching the leaves fall off the trees as the bus sped by them and wrote this. Everyone hates poetry posts, but if even one person likes it then I'd be happy.
A traveller is one who looks beside.
A lonely soul going on its way,
Footfalls determined by no other.
Finding themself with somewhere to go
But nowhere to be.
Just stop and look.
Watch the leaves swirl as they fall;
See the patterns they form on the grass.
Barren spires of grey-brown branches
Stretching toward a bleary sky.
Leaves still green cling to their mothers,
While brown ones fade like memories.
See those oft' forgotten flowers,
Blooming still while snowflakes fly.
Is a soul in this forgotten wasteland
A life forgotten in this lie?
Such is the harsh travel in Winter
When one does seldom life their eyes.
