This wasn't written by me, but a (former) friend of mine. It gives you something to think about...

If God created man, and God created the angels and Satan is a fallen angel, this did not God create evil and sin? If man was created in the image of God, then the sin we have within ourselves is inherited from God. Yet we are held in contempt for those sins, sins that were given to us by God. We will never be able to enter Heaven if we have not given our souls to God (then who has them?) and if we don't we are still condemned to a life of Hell. Spurned by our creator for doing the very thing he created us to do, think for ourselves, cast into Hell for the sins of our father.
Tyrannical and petty, this is the God we are taught to give ourselves to. If we do not give ourselves to God we will go to Hell, if we don't give our souls to Satan, we go to Hell. Condemned for our free thought and the choices we make, because they do not follow our sinful fathers path, many wonder why people turn to Satan. If anything Satan at least accepts us for who and what we are, not judging. Satan has his own reasons for accepting us, that may be true. He does not however hold our fathers sins against us as our own father would.
You life your life the best you can, helping and doing others right. Yet, because you have not given your soul to God, you are still condemned to an eternity in Hell. For what I ask? Helping others? Doing right by others? The "Do as I say, not as I do" quote could not be used better.
I chose neither God nor Satan. Neither one exists to help us, neither one has anything but their own petty desires in mind. I chose my life to live as my own and will never be held accountable by either. Every day I exist I exist because I choose to, not for God, not for Satan. For me and those I love.

Just wait awhile and whatever religion you are worried about will change enough to match up with whatever it is you want to do. Assuming you are a good person of course.
Or switch religions. Its faster that way.
