I am sitting at my computer; it is 12:17 a.m. (PST). I think about tomorrow, 11/02/2004. Election Day.
I think about all the issues I should be thinking about in order to make an informed vote.
I think about the economy. I make more money now than I ever have.
I think about Iraq. Saddam was a cockwipe.
Then I realize that it does not matter who is president (president-elect) tomorrow.
All the problems in the country cannot be blamed on one man, one administration. These things ebb and flow.
I don't blame Bush, or Clinton, or Bush, or Reagan, or Carter for a fucked-up situation in the Middle East. Or a fucked up America.
All politics are local. This is a saying that I find to be true. It doesn't matter what happens on a national or state level, what happens to you personally is what is important. If you aren't contributing to the welfare of your community, then who cares what you think about what is happening in Iraq.
Keep it real. Worry about yourself and your people. Forget ideologies when voting, think about what is good for you and your family.

I was just thinking about this.
If there wasn't such a trend in this country toward bench legislation, this wouldn't matter so much. The problem is the progressives in this country has depended on organisations such as the ACLU and others to push whack-job cases through the justice system, and create really creative and far-fetched interpretations of existing legislation.
What I don't want in a supreme court justice? Creativity. I just want constitutional intrepretation, not new shite.
