Considering all the talk about this election beforehand, it really didn't go off without a hitch. It was a clean election with a clear winner, and no one tried to argue it into the ground. I admire Kerry greatly for choosing to concede the election when he did (even though many of his campaign advisors wanted to drag it out.) When it's all said and done, I would have been okay with either choice. Yeah yeah, I voted for Bush. But really, compared to some people I've seen run for President, Kerry wasn't too bad. I wouldn't have cried TOO mcuh if he got elected.
But that's over now. Let bygones be bygones. Here's my problem:
Hillary Clinton has already decided to run for President in '08.
Now, I'm pretty sure she's going to make it past the primary. I mean, she's the most widely known female candidate to ever run for President, and she has a possiblilty of making it past the primary based on something like that alone. So what happens if she gets to the primary, and faces a really bad Republican candidate? I know he's getting pretty old, but what if John McCain runs for President again? That's pretty scary.
As I was sitting at work today, I kept trying to figure out what the hell I'll do if the 2008 election is Clinton vs. McCain. I finally thought of one thing:
Hey, Canada? Are you still gonna have some extra room up there in about four years? I might need to move.

This post now has two of the most horrifying reviews I have ever seen.
Gross generalizations about women's psyches, and someone who "doesn't want a woman President"...I'd say I hope you're ashamed of yourselves, but I am sure you're too fucking bigoted to see that there would ever be a problem discriminating against someone on the simple basis of their gender.

The problem with a woman running for the president is that women are all, under the surface, in a competition with other women. They can't stand the fact that there is a woman doing better then them. Like hell they are going to let a woman be commander in chief.
I'd vote for her though.

Being a NY resident myself, she's not that great. I would say 50% of women here can't stand her (with a lot of venom), and she hasn't done enough of anything to impress any men. The only thing going for her is the vagina and her big name. Both of which are also a liability. There's no way in hell.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if she's the best candidate the democrats can come up with. The fucking losers.

Bill Clinton is also known as the first black president so with Hilary running, more black voters will vote for her because of Bill. She also made many of the decisions in the White House during Bill's tenure and many people feel as though "he" did a remarkable job as president. The voter she wil have to sway the most is rednecks that still don't feel as though woman belong in politics. I don't mean all rednecks by that either.

If Hillary Clinton is the Democratic nominee in 2008, a Republican will be in the White House in January of 2009.
Here's a quick test. Think of ANY time she has come up in conversation. Now tell me ONE time anyone has not had a firm opinion on her.
Hillary Clinton is the most polarizing person in the Democratic roster right now. Besides being unqualified for the job (more on that next paragraph), she will not be able to solidly lock down the women's vote, which ANY female candidate for President is going to have to have at least 2/3rds of to even be SLIGHTLY viable. Furthermore, a great many men are either threatened or pissed off by her, which makes it even more difficult, AND she has the history of being linked with her husband, who, as Dave Barry aptly put it, is a man who Republicans "hated more than anything in the world, except rap music." This makes it extremely unlikely that she will be able to sway any substantial numbers of Republican voters, and heightens the challenge of snatching up undecided voters because there is a higher probability that they will have felt disenfranchised by both Bill AND Hillary's conduct during the Whitewater extravaganza.
But before you ever get to polling numbers, you can look at her complete lack of qualification for the highest office in the country. She is a junior Senator without substantial, major, or widely-publicized legislation having been originated in her office. Which is not to mention the effect that her disingenuous behavior in more or less selecting New York's seat for ease of election challenges - a just-liberal-enough state with a semi-established Senator leaving. I don't know how people in New York feel about this, but frankly, I detest most things about New York and *I* felt like yelling at her to cut the shit. You can say she was Bill's advisor all you want, but she was not the one whose job hung on the decisions he made, and advisory capacities do not qualify you to be President. She also has managed to prove herself as evasive and generally shady in the Whitewater business. AND, let's bear in mind that she's a complete fucking power whore who stayed with her husband despite the fact that he was fucking around probably since, well, I don't even know when, but what it all comes down to is, GREAT FUCKING EXAMPLE TO SET FOR YOUR DAUGHTER, YOU STUPID WHORE.
Yeah, I know it seems like I've dedicated waaaay too much thought to this, but the fact of the matter is that I'm a poli sci major and I have tits, so more or less every time I turn around, I am being asked is Hillary Clinton is my role model. How about Eleanor Roosevelt? How about Nancy Pelosi? Hmm? Anyone? Alice Paul? Elizabeth Cady Stanton?
