Today, I want to aid my search for knowledge with a query:
You see, a while ago I got into a debate about American President Bush. Some of you kept stressing that he was elected because of a technicality, which is in hindsight, all fair and good. Sed ecce, Bush is once again head of your fair nation. That is why I want to ask the following questions; Was this another technicality? Or do you really feel he will do something good for your nation?
You told me that I was weak to judge the entire people of America on one error in the counting of the votes. I heard the president or whatever of the voting process has been sacked, so if her successor is better than she was, what could've caused this error?
As hard as I try not to judge your nation nowadays, it seems inevitable. Aceept the truth, Americans, a majority of the Americans voted for President Bush.
I know this is the umpteenth post concerning Bush, but I would still like an answer.
If and when I post next (that means if you don't ban me for this or something) I will include a picture of a tipped donkey or something, but this really interests me, so please answer!

"Get your act together before the US Marines come and tell you to get your act together. "
Is that a hint of 'We Rule The World'?

Answer: YES we think Bush has and will continue to do good things for our country. If it pisses off some other countries, then tough, don't get in the way next time. Get your act together before the US Marines come and tell you to get your act together.
You hate Bush because he is not on your team. I hated Reggie Jackson when he played for the A's, I loved him when he palyed for my team the Yankees. Go figure.
As to the Americans who hate their leader, they are primarily a bunch of ponytailed whining liberals (or gay or feminist or radical or immature or unemployed) who would hate Jesus if he was Republican.

Well, it was a majority, by the very definition of the word. Majority means more than 50%, more than half. It was not a landslide, but he did get the majority of the votes.

Our media is convincing people that:
1. Saddam was involved with 9-11
2. Saddam had WMD
3. The world is behind our war in Iraq
4. Anyone who would have you believe otherwise hates America and wants to destrot it.
Unfortunately, people are to lazy or ignorant to figure out the truth.

Ah, see, People like sideburns is who should be running these discussions. he gives good arguments and has a point. Who did you vote for, then?
The thing about the media is also correct. over here in the great Nation of Holland (yes, that ís sarcastic) we only hear about the two candidates, nothing more.
It's weak that noone ever changes that...
It doesn't help my score if I gave myself a +2, would it? Ah, hell.

Well, basically not much of a majority of America voted for Bush...
We had record voter turn out in sheer numbers this election. But already the Bush administration is skewing the results to say that the majority of American support the president. In reality he only won in the popular vote 51% to 48%, with that other 1% voting for 3rd party candidates.
See, as Sideburns said, most Americans are idiots. The educated, enlightened individuals, as well as minorities and those who are blue collar (for example factory workers) in large urban areas are all liberal/democrats. If you look at the map, most of the major cities as well as the blue-collar midwest (Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, etc) and traditionally industrial Northeast (NY, NJ, etc) went for Kerry.
Basically, being Republican boils down to three values: Hate, Greed, and Ignorance. Let me explain...
Hate: Those who are very conservative, usually fundamentalist Christian. They vote Republican because they are against Gay Rights, Abortion, etc.
Greed: The rich, and big business who want lower taxes and less government regulation.
Ignorance: Rual America, such as the "Old South" where people are less educated, and usually fundamentalist Christian, especially Baptist.
So you see, not all of America are idiots. Its just when the idiots band together, shit like G.W. Bush happens.

It's not politically torn if you consider that Bush won by 3.5 million popular votes. By your rational the country was more politically torn during the Clinton Administration, when we were supposedly all "united".

I'll say it, I'm American. I'll admit this.
We're fucking idiots.
The way American media has been shining on these two the past year, we had a choice of two candidates. Why vote for someone else when either Bush or Kerry are going to be our next President?
Firstly, we don't choose who we want to run as the head of each party. Unfortunately, the rich political geniuses behind the Republican and Democratic sides do that. With that said, we only have two choices.
Even though I don't think Bush is the best President, I have come to the conclusion that Kerry is inexperienced and I would only vote for him just because I don't like Bush.
Isn't that a little irresponsible? Yes, I think so.
Most Americans went to the polls voting for Kerry because they don't like Bush. That doesn't mean they thought Kerry would be a suitable replacement, they just wanted to get Bush out of office before the idiot attacked Hawaii or something. Yes, he would do that.
With that said, a majority of the American south(where I'm located) is filled with idiots. If you look at statistics as far as highschool placement and college tests, you'd see that southern states are at the bottom of the list. Most notably at the very bottom is my state, South Carolina.
In an average conversation I had with your average southerner, their only reasononing for voting for W. was because "I don't like that Osama guy."
Great.
Now, you see-- our nation has been safer since 9/11. Bush has indeed stepped up to the plate to protect our nation. Unfortunately, he had to take the fight to so many other countries for the wrong reasons-- but on the whole, we are safer. No major attacks have taken place since then.
In conclusion, we're idiots. We don't know what we want because we're the Divided States of America. We always will be. Your average white-collar New Yorker's view will differ greatly from someone down in Texas. We will always be divided.
But that's what makes us so great. I love it here and I'm not leaving.
(Did Sideburns just say something about politics?)

2000: Gore has like 300,000 more popular votes than Bush, but the states Bush won are worth more electoral votes, which are the ones that count. The controversy was over Florida, which Bush won by about 300 votes.
2004: Bush wins popular vote by about 3,000,000, gets electoral vote as well. No controversy, just a politically torn nation.
