The Democratic Party absolutely lost the 2004 election, in terms of the Presidency and both houses of Congress.
What is in the future for the DNC?
There are three options:
1) Move further right, and become jest a slightly more left version of the RNC.
2) Stay the same, and keep not getting elected.
3) Move further left. Try to conect with the liberal base like George W. Bush connects with the Republican base. The Democrats need a real liberl to run, not a Catholic gun-owner and SUV-owner. The Democrats need to really become leftists again.

Don't even act like Changing Positions isn't a generic attribute to Politics.
EVERYONE FLIP-FLOPS!
BUSH FLIP-FLOPS, KERRY FLIP-FLOPS! "ALMOST" EVERY POLITICIAN FLIP-FLOPS!
It's the name of the game.
Bush just happened to point it out so many times that eventually everyone distrusted Kerry because of it.
I really hope WW3 doesn't come in to play anytime soon with all this Anti-Bush/America sentiment.

i'm a republican, but i'm not gonna go rant er nothing don't worry i'm a decent guy.
don't flip flop....
if he hadn't he might have gotten elected, i bet ya atlest another 3mil would have voted for him if all that flip flopiness hadn't gone down.
the funny thing is that Kerry isn't even a left wing Democrat, seriously.
first he's a catholic, even though they tend to be a bit strange some times, as someone mentioned already.
a gun owner, also mentioned, liberals tend to be tree huggers and such, no offense of course, i've hugged a tree or two, lol , guns are a no no.
he's pretty much an independant that decided to be a democrat cause he has some very crazy UN ideas among other things.
the funny part is that he doesn't believe in same sex marriage, and also he's not even pro choice, he just doesn't care, really, so he just "changed his mind" so he could get more votes, that where all this flip flop shnanagins came from.
the poor guy, he was a leaning left independant, and it's his turn ta run, and he goes, "oh shit, i don't have a chance, i believe in all this republican shit, so i have ta change what i'm voting for and running for, so i can actually get some votes," in Yale lingo of course.
then the poor guy does all this, and a year and 9 months later he's campaning and uh he well gets caught, people notice.
well i just hope that Bush gets your guy's support these next 4 years, i'm really not looking for Civil War II lol.
but yeah Kerry just didn't have a chance with the flipedy flopedy.
he put up quite a fight, and Bush as well, just Bush seemed ta get a bit more, i was pulling for bush and i was sure he was gonna win, but i was a bit surprised that Kerry pulled out like he did, but hey it was a very Honorable thing ta do, i'd rather be remebered to have conceded than to "I call for a recount!!," cause he'll never live that down.
hey well i wish all you democrats best of luck next ellection, and btw who the fuck are you guys running against, lol who knows? maybe one of Bush's daughters..... wouldn't that be a blast ;) lol

+2 for suggesting the Dems go even more left. Good luck getting elected anywhere outside of San Fran then.

Some other suggestions:
Get off this anti-war kick. Since when was the democratic party anti-war? They've been kicking ass for decades.
Get off this anti-corporation/business kick. Americans own corporations. You, me, little old ladies. They're not some boogeyman to be derided and exorcised. IF the democratic party partnered with them like they did from the 40s to the 80s, they'd still be in control.
End the anti-gun bias. It's over. We're going to have guns, PERIOD. There are too many guns to take away, and people in this country believe in self-defense. Abandon this issue forever.
Eject the anti-Semitic and anti-American sentiment from your party. YOu've allowed so much filth into your party, it's time for a good house cleaning. Get the race baiters and jew haters out of there, please. SPeaking from the right side of the aisle, I'd happily chuck Pat Buchanan off the Freedom Tower when it's done.
Reexamine the hardcore dems. JFK. Truman. FDR.
There's a real place in American politics for the Dems. Too bad they're so far to the left of it.

Either the Democrats get left, or the Democrats get replaced by civil war. Good call though.
