Kerry lost, by 3.5 million votes. Get over it.
**
Great fucking analysis, dipshit! The guy was saying WHY Kerry lost by 3.5 million votes.
I really don't think that the majority of Republicans have the mental capacity to fucking read an entire article. They always seem to not get it if its not "Arabs bad, must be killed!" or "Gays bad, must be linched!"

+2 for time and effort, but your final analysis was off.
I have heard from repeated sources claiming what you claim actually HURT Kerry.
Even Clinton said that Kerry should have jumped on the issue of gay marriage and supported the bans that were on many ballots across the state. If he had done that, he may have won the votes of many people who were in the middle and then finally leaned at the end going with the "morality vote" at the end.
What is surprising is that the democrats thought that getting more people to vote gave them an edge but the republicans outpaced them.
In all honesty, I don't think the USA wants to lean left at all and they are willing to lean right in the process to do it. Now George W. Bush feels obligated to support these religious wackos by fighting stem cell research and the abortion issue... That sucks, to tell you the truth. But I can look on the positive side of things: Affirmative action will be history in the same process. And since I personally don't have abortions, I guess it wouldn't bother me any even though I wouldn't take that choice away.
Fucking religious wackos and liberal socialists. What a fucking combination we get to choose from.

Fair points, but if Kerry went further left, he'd probably just end up alienating the majority of people who don't have particularly extreme views. Still, he seemed to make the mistake of trying to cover all his bases- and when you stretch your attack so thinly, it's easy to punch holes in, I guess. And yes, I know i've over-simplified to a horrible extent.

Exactly! I voted for Nader because Kerry just didn't seem Left enough for me.
The Democratic Party has to decide. Are they going to become (even more of) the same thing the Republicans are, or are they going to become a real party of the real left.
Maybe the reason the youth vote didn't show up is because a real Democratic candidate didn't.
