There are things that I will never understand. If you have skills, then so be it, use it and make something of yourself--don't be a show-off.
There is a very specific case in Canada and is pretty pathetic. Take Jeanson. She is a young (22 years old) that is racing (cycling) with the Rona Racing Team. Is she good? Hell Yes. The only other real cyclist Canada has (on the women's side) is Lyne Bessette. Jeanson's potential put Bessette's skills to shame.
But of course, she had to blow it. She had to show off and put her foot in her mouth. She promised to beat people, and she failed. She promised to reach goals, she failed.
Then she gets caught in a drug scandal. She denies it, but offers no proof against it. People believe her, but she shuns them.
She was primed to be in the Olympics, but because of the drug scandal, and the fact that she could not win a race in weeks, meant she would never have the chance to go.
20+ women left the Rona team (rumored to have left because of Jeanson.
The icing on the cake? In September 2004, Rona s rumored to have sent Jeanson a letter saying that she is no longer wanted on the team.
So, from great potential, she now can't win a race, is belived to take drugs, and has lost her sponsor.
How embarrassing is that?? Talk about wasting your talent.....

Yes, I agree your right about the other canadians.
BUT....Even the other cyclist 'Bessette' was caught in the story. She openly said that she knew that Jeanson was taking drugs. Then she had to apologise publicly for it.
And in the grander scope of things, Canada's top female athletes do not match up w/ the world-class atheltes they arte up against.
Think about it, Bessette and Jenason are the top cyclists for Canada, but lately, they are racing just like the 'amateur' girls, like Emilie Roy and Katy St-Laurent. The latter two can't even finsh a race let alone place well.
In Athens, Emile Heymans, catherine dunnette, sherraine mackay and amalie plante, Annie Martin, Dumont etc... were all favorite to 'bring home the medals'.....well, Heymans brought home a Bronze, the others? Well lets just say that they were crushed pityfully by the competition.
I think in general, the Athelets in Canada are too full of themselves.....
Is Jeanson worse then the others? Thats a matter of opinion.....
Thanks for the compliment on the post!

Although I agree with you that Jeanson is a bit of a turd, I can't help but point out there are so many Athletes from Canada that are legit and are excelling in their respective sports. Jeanson is but one exception, and her shitty situation shouldn't be enthrusted upon all Canadian athletes. Good post, though.
