NECROSIAC 24

Brother,

I trust everything went well at the Tasker residence.

Our beloved host has been very worried about you. I'm afraid he has a touch of father's protective spirit where we are concerned. I have done my best to assure him that you are by far the strongest of us, and most fit to attend to the task. I believe he understands. Still, despite your strength, I cannot help but feel a slight tinge of worry for you as well.

I pray you are not too bored. I know you have been looking forward to this since Charlie's powers came to fruition within you.

Did your opponent prove to be worthy?

I look forward to hearing of your adventure when next we meet.

I am currently undertaking my own adventure, within the portal left open by the apparent unveiling of father's ring. Can you believe the audacity of these fools to once again tempt me with an avenue to the heart of them? Too many years of conquest have left them overly confident in their abilities. I do not believe they truly comprehend what we will become, what we are becoming.

I will never understand how they took Father from us! These soft cattle! These arrogant peasants!

No I do not understand but I plan too.

In the meantime take heart.

I am pleased to bring you tidings of a greater fortune than we had hoped. Currently I occupy the mind of the assistant for the Agency director. Luckily, she is a particularly weak willed specimen, weak enough that I am able to keep her enthralled while dictating this to you.

By the time you read this, I will have transferred myself into the mind of the director herself, a dull woman, a woman without magical ability. I do not anticipate she will be able to do anything but bend to my will.

Oh brother, I will bend her until she snaps.

But this is not the time to play. It is a time to hurt our enemies more than they ever thought possible.

I will do what I believe Father would have wanted. I will be my father's daughter. I will use the leader of mine enemy to bring mine enemy to its knees. With your help I will take the first step in ushering a new age for us, and those who would follow in the wake of our destiny.

Are you ready to be your Father's son?

Are you ready to once again bathe in the warm fluids of the living?

I believe you are. I believe you were born for this day my love, my dark prince.

The task I set for you now will not be without risk, but trust me when I say the reward will be enough to satiate even your gross appetite.

Do as I ask my love and I never again deny you my flesh as I have these past weeks. Do this for me and I will come to you on bended knee as a sister, a lover, a servant to your will.

Gift me with this great favor and I will never again doubt your ability to rule as Father would have ruled. Do this one thing and I promise I will lay before you the world, to shape as you see fit, to mold into something as glorious as the beautiful instrument between your legs.

I so look forward to watching you at play with mankind.

I have instructed Uncle Hadrian to appoint a guide to see you to the tower of the Agency. He will give you the information which I provide and instruct you in the use of the mechanisms you find within.

I will herd the cattle within for you. Seek a room called the auditorium on the first floor. Within you will find the city's surviving agents and their families.

Bathe!

Feed!

And when you are done, bind them to your will and seek a place called the "Wonder Room" It is there that I will ensconce the banquet for our next becoming. It is there that you will find four of the people from Father's list.

Do to them what you will.

I will use the Director's influence to give you what protection you need during your task.

Do not be too angry with me my love. I only wish to help as a Sister should.

When you have satiated your desires, go to the rear entrance of the building. I have instructed our gracious host to have his best Acolytes ready to transport you back to me.

Oh I have such delicious plans for your return. Think of me whilst you split their flesh.

Go now Brother, I await you in the rupturing heart of our foe.

Love and Darkness,

Lillith.

Adrian folded the note back into the gilded envelope, then replaced it in the inside pocket of his jacket for what seemed like the thousandth time.

Across the street from him, the dark blue glass of the Agency tower glinted blandly in the setting sun of the overcast fall day. From his vantage point on the crowded sidewalk he couldn't quite make out the symbols etched into the glass but it didn't matter. Their presence was making itself known to him in the form of a steady pressure, an unseen force willing his dead flesh away.

Adrian bent slightly at the waist and coughed a single silver rune etched bullet onto the street, then once again returned his attention to the building and shook his head disdainfully at the presence of the warding magic pushing on him.

Such a pitiful display of the art.

Such fools... everywhere around him fools. He supposed the one thing he had in common with his dearly departed father was the innate inability to suffer them. He hated mankind for its celebration of foolishness. He wanted to wipe the world clean of it.

Yes, fools everywhere. They shuffled past him on the street, oblivious to his nature, the doom of them all. They scurried about in the building before him like ants, hatching plan after feeble plan in an idiotic preamble to their inevitable end. And yet another sat at the side of HIS sister and claimed the right to council.

His Sister, the only fool he loved.

He supposed he loved her as she loved him, but then he thought "It's easy to love folly in a child" then pulled the note out again and stared at it awhile. The words inside disturbed him on a level he wasn't accustomed to. Lillith had been acting differently since her collapse at their old sanctuary, and the words inscribed within the envelope he held were so unlike anything she'd ever written. No, he decided, not a child anymore. His sister was becoming a woman and he found himself increasingly uneasy with the reality of it.

She had worshipped him once. There was a time not so long ago, when her love for him burned so brightly within her that he felt it might consume them both, but now, she was so different. Everything was so different.

The change in his sister's demeanor did more than make him uneasy, he felt off balance, out of touch. No, he knew this would not do, this would not do at all.

And who was she anyways? Who did she think she was to feign subservience while issuing orders at the same time?

Or more correctly, what did she think he was?

A toy perhaps, nothing more than a pet, but no, despite his growing anger he could not deny her feelings for him.

So if not a toy then what? A beloved servant? A wayward child?

Adrian shook his head at the cement beneath his feet.

No, he realized it was none of those things. Indeed it was something much worse.

His sister thought him a fool.

She'd sent him to his death, in the hope that he would damage her enemy in the process. It would be just like her to direct him to his destruction in this way, so lovingly. To gift him with an end that would bring him such pleasure.

Yes, she must love him as a fool.

He decided that he could not fault her for her actions if he was right. She was only doing what he would eventually do, what father would have done. He'd come to the conclusion some time ago that, eventually there could only be one of them.

The world was just too small for two Gods.

Indeed, he couldn't help but feel a certain pride. She'd made her move long before he would ever have suspected. She'd understood the tragedy of their love, their power, and somehow played her gambit before him.

"Oh Sister, you are your father's daughter"

Yes, father's daughter. Full of ambition yet destined to see it fall to ruin.

She had made her move brilliantly, that he could not deny, but like father, fate was not on her side. She couldn't know the changes his death had brought upon him, the quickening of his Necrosiatic self, the dormant power triggered by the bullets of Agent Markus Tasker.

Tasker had dispelled him. He'd felt the magic binding his soul to his flesh smashed to mist as the first magic canceling slug wiped him from the world. He'd looked down from above as his body slumped lifelessly, his organic consciousness splattered on the wall behind. The memory of it was clear, as was the memory of the thing that had dragged him back, the thing that had made him whole again during the hours since. The entity within him, whispering malevolently within his mind, as he stood surrounded by the living, across from the fortress of the enemy.

"Release me unto them"

He loved the feel of it writhing within him, whispering its melodic dark secrets. Its presence electrified him and he decided if that wasn't what it was like to feel like a god, he couldn't wait to find out what did.

With a smile he glanced around him at his blissfully unaware pets, passing him on the sidewalk and street beyond, then closed his eyes and listened to the voice within.

"Let me feed"

"Yes" he replied, then dropped the envelope in his hand on the ground and rubbed it into the cement with the heel of his shoe. He would indeed show sister what he could do, he would free the beast within him, let the cocoon of it's hunger flow out and bring him an army born of the screams of the innocent.

He would destroy every living thing within the tower and then he would return as she commanded. He would return and make her his queen, his slave bride.

She would have no choice. She would never be as strong as he.

"Release me!"

Adrian took a step forward, spread his arms wide and let the power within him free to envelope the mob surrounding him like a blanket of death. He shuddered then cried out as the entity began to channel each stolen life force back to him, binding them to his will.

So many souls... such unlimited capacity within himself.

"I never knew... it could be like this"

His words came out in a hoarse half shout as he stumbled then went to his knees, and realized his wildest dreams had never even come close...

He'd never imagined how good it could feel to bathe in the cries of the damned.

Women say this to me all the time. Between screams.

In-fucking-credible. If there were words to describe this series, they would be so awe-inspiring that Pat Sajak would never see them on his stupid-people show.

HaHa! Nope, 27 years of skateboarding.

I'll tell you what the doctor told me the first time it happened: "Your shoulder will never be the same again."

She was right.

But at least it stopped hurting after the 4th or 5th time.

Well I managed to take my drunken foolery to a new level on the weekend.

I won't go into detail, suffice to say I tore all the ligaments in my shoulder away from my scapula, setting it free to explore its space.

Typing one handed sucks so it's gonna be a bit before I post again.

The next story will probably be called "Rich Chick, Crazy Chick, Beer Goggles and a trip to Emergency"
