Ok people listen up, I'm lookin for a good movie to watch tonight. I've go bronchitis so i really don' feel like going out or anything, so I decided to make it a blockbuster night. Hmm, I guess I should give you a list of movies I've seen that I think will get recommended a lot.

All the 80's classics. Space balls, blazing saddles, monty python, sixteen candles, breakfast club, etc.

Fahrenheit 9-11, bowling for columbine, supersize me.

The day after tomorrow (sucked so bad), the punisher, envy, Last samurai, chicago, shade, monster, maser and commander, best of will ferrel, pirates of the carribean

Al quentin tarentino's (sp?) movies

Everything that Adam sandler was in

Everything that ben stiller was in

Everything that jim carey was in

You kow what? there's a lot, just make a suggestion and I'll let you know if I've seen it. Also, if you haven't posted apost that I find entertaining, at all, then your suggestion will be ignored. thanks.

"Heat" with DeNiro and Picano. Also what Lady in Radiator said, Donnie Darko. And any David Lynch flick; "La Dolce Vita" by Fellini if you don't mind sub-titles or speak Italian. "Ginger Snaps" and "Ginger Snaps Back," "Freeway" and "Freeway 2".

You know what?

I just bookmarked this for future reference.

I've already seen about eight movies in the first few replies that I didn't even think of.

Anything with Edward Norton is good, but don't get the new version of "the Italian Job."

It's got Donald Sutherland briefly, which almost makes it worth the rent, but if you want to see that movie then watch the one with Michael Caine.

Oh, and anything with Clint Eastwood. Get Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.

You've got a weekend full of movies right there, and that's just the surface of those two.

If you're in the mood for war flicks due to Veteran's Day:

Thin Red Line
The Longest Day (one of my favorite movies of all time)

A lot of people didn't like this movie, it has an intellectual twist.
Good for those into action movies and those into good mysteries.

Here's one that's completely off the wall, and you should watch it while you're high on cold medicine: In The Company Of Wolves. It's a psychodrama based on Red Riding Hood and werewolf folk tales, starring Angela Landsbury as the Grandma. I love it.
I doubt they'd have it on dvd, though.

DEFINITELY see The House of Yes. It may not look like an eye catcher, but it's fucking AMAZING. As a lot of independent films are. (The Boondock Saints? Independent. I rest my case.) Parker Posey is awesome in the movie.

Jackie-O: Guess where I am? I'm in a box and I can't get out.
Marty: No. I'M in a box and I can't get out.
Jackie-O: Well, I'm sorry.. that wasn't a very good mime, Marty. I didn't see that at all.

..and I suppose it could have been Yes from Uber. If, you know, he's into the whole incest thing. But I wouldn't think that of him.

Also, see Schindler's List.

there are always exceptions, of course
for example, Shane, which i don't actually like, has excellent character development
and the fight scenes are super cheesy, but you have to understand that they're not supposed to be realistic... they're supposed to be extravagantly heroic
the death of the mick is a great scene

Nowhere (a completely pointless movie with tons of famous actors (Heather Graham, Ryan Philippe, Kathleen Robertson, Christina Applegate), even though the movie is widely unheard of)

But I'm a Cheerleader (A funny movie about a girl whose family is convinced she's a lesbian so they send her to gay rehab)

Psycho Beach Party (Funny as hell. 90's version of a 50's horror movie with a modern sense of humour)
