Here is what me and my friend Scott did yesterday. We remade the classic Nirvana song "Lounge Act". Anyone familiar with the song will be suprised how different this is, and how well it seems to work in 3/4 waltz time with acoustic.

We'll probably do more with this one before we're done, but you can see what we have so far and get an idea. Check back for updates...

So, here's the song. Hope you enjoy it.

(I am not going to reprint the lyrics here because it is about the only part Courtney Love can claim ownership to.)

hey Sassmasterr, thanks for the compliment. It's nice to know that people listen to the crap my friends and I record. I have also completely reworked "Smells Like Teen Spirit" with different music and everything. It should be up within the next couple days. I look forward to seeing what you think of that one.

This one isn't really done either. I will be polishing it up and perhaps adding more instruments at some point, so keep an eye out for updates. If you want to check out other stuff I've done, go to http://www.electrictoothsyndrome.com

Later,

Brad

Electrictooth- Well, my band from twenty years ago has a web site, but there's also personal info on it which I don't really want shared with the fucking morons in this room.

I easily could post a link but I'd rather ty and attach something off my hard drive.
Thanks, anyway.

If you want to risk it, Shlongy, you can encode the mp3 so that it's below 1mb, which is the limit for a file Bart's server will accept. Unless it's a short song, I wouldn't recommend it, as the quality will suffer greatly. If it's spoken word, quality is not as big an issue.

The best way I've found is to get hosting for your stuff and just link to that from here. There are a lot of free hosting sites out there like Tripod, Geocities, Angelfire, etc. You can set up a simple homepage and just use them as file storage. The downside is that some of them won't let you link directly from another site. In other words if I link to a song from here to my angelfire site, it won't accept the request because they try to conserve bandwidth, so you end up having to copy the link and pasting into the address bar, which isn't that hard to do really, but honestly, how many people will actually go through the trouble? Not many as I found out on my first ubersong post. Plus, those sites also come with pop-ups which can be annoying as hell. If you plan on posting complete songs, and plan on making a habit of it, which I strongly recommend so I won't feel so alone :) - I suggest looking into getting hosting so you can link to it as I have done here.

(Also, I don't know how many of you have figured this out, but if you take the filename out of my links it will give you the directory where I keep my songs... http://www.electrictoothsyndrome.com/songs There you can check out other things I have recorded but haven't posted links to because of their size mainly.

Soley_Trinity: Wow. I am honored you would say that. That is one of the highest compliments you could give me. Although I don't quite agree, I will never-the-less try to take the compliment gracefully... There will be more of these coming, I promise. Thanks for listening. If you like this that much, email me you address and I'll send you cd's of some of my originals too, along with a better quality copy of this song. electrictoothsyndrome.at.gmail.com :)

That offer stands for anyone else too so long as it doesn't get too overwhelming.

I wouldn't mind listening to some more of your stuff. I quite enjoyed your nirvana cover.

I'm going to listen to it again when I get home. Maybe with a pinch of weed and a splash of red.

This track is definitely growing on me. It's easy to listen to. I could imagine myself playing this whilst indulging in some armchair random ramblings after a night out with friends.

I prefer this to the original. I like what I like. I'll leave you be now, time for a refill. "Cheers"

My favorite parts were the guitar tidbits in between the chorus and verses. I would personally revolve the whole song around that type of sound. If THAT sound was exxagerated overall, those interludes turned into longer psycho delic freakouts, the tempo was more upbeat, creepy falsetto, pukelele, chord organ transplant, and beer belly trombones... Record it all on analog and then when it is done wrap it thru a grinder wheel, press power, and mix that down!

WWKKD What would Kurdt Kobain do? That is a common way I judge my music... Would Kurt like it?

I have a recording of us singin that that would put you to shame on all of uber

Daniel: I am sure 'If You Must' and all the other officially unreleased stuff from all the Outcesticides will be on there. The only reason I am buying it is because I am sure the sound quality will be the best on the box set.

All of the stuff will surely be remastered. I'll have to pick it up today.

Monkeypants: I am glad you approve. Thanks.

Everyone: I will do more of these...stay tuned. Also, check this one from time to time because it will probably change.

their box-set comes out tomorrow, (w/ 68 unreleased songs, so I've heard.) C. Love (bitch-slap) will probably get 50% of profits. Nice post.

Nirvana-rific! Further proof that Cobain didn't kill himself; he just had bad aim. I'd have to kill Courtney, too...

...but I'm not real fond of women right now, so overlook that.

I once had this idea of remaking the entire Nevermind album, but reworking all the songs so they sound completely different like this.

I have already redone 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and some friends and I reworked 'Something in the Way'. They are not recorded yet though. I'll probably get to them eventually.

The song messed me up too. Whenever the chorus starts up, you sing it real slow, but its originally faster. You know how when youre used to something, and it gets changed... No? Ok, well I gotta get back to work.

Good job, you should do some more songs. Like old Chilli Peppers or Alice in Chains.

Gosh, people, don't be afraid to tell me it sucks. I am really just looking for feedback, this being just a rough mix.

What more do you think I should do to it? Any other instruments? I was thinking of an organ toward the end, or perhaps during the 'smell her on you' parts... What do you think?

And don't fucking say cowbell...i have already tried that and it didn't work.
