Wednesday is hump day and Thursday's start my weekend. After working in a dreadful grey box for five years you find things/activities to occupy your time. Yes I know this work and I'm supposed to be working. Yes I get a paycheck for the "work" that I do (ok and all the other shit that I do at work besides work but give me a break it's an engineering firm). Let your tools do the work for you is my motto.
Anyway.
When you work in a place where the 6ft cubicle walls are grey, the ceiling is grey, the steel beams coming out of the floor are painted grey, they sky outside your window is grey . . .ok I'm sure you get it by now. At some point you start to realize that "this place is sucking the fucking life out of me." My work wardrobe is heavily laden with black and grey (well only when I have a meeting with the head of engineering and decide that it is inappropriate to put on the jeans that I'd been wearing for the past two weeks).
Down the street is a restaurant by the name of Margaritas. Recently they decide to give us poor working slobs a break and open for lunch on Thursdays and Fridays. And so the debauchery ensues! There is nothing that makes the day go by faster than a few Margaritas. Preferably 1800 and a shot of Cabo or Don Julio!

I'm glad it's not just me. Engineering sucks, but I must say
the people that suck the most are the assholes on the shop floor
that are getting ready to strike . . . ARRRAAHHH I HATE THE UNION!
but hey I'll always have a little cabo and don't tell me you don't notice
your exec coming back from lunch (well if they come back) a little hammered.
try it someday no one will ever know . . . shhhhhh

hey - i work in engineering too. and my walls, ceiling, carpet, and skies are grey too.
i don't get drunk during work though. i wish i could.
