I may not be a good writer, and it might be hard to express my thoughts through here for me. But my tattoo and my photography is the way I work. Photographing yourself is simple with a tri-pod and a self timer. I will post more when I want. But I just want some people to see a little piece of me. I am just a normal photographer, clearly no good writer.

i'd like to know who thinks this picture is art so that i can ask them if they'd buy a picture of my nuts in black and white to hang on their wall.

Take this as constructive criticism. I'm a photo-major grad student...This photo isn't that great compositionally-speaking. Granted, you weren't even facing the camera to pose correctly, but you can still even see the floor. You gotta get a darker black-room to take shots like this in. And consider taking color shots instead of B&W. Anyone can pick up a B&W disposable camera and take shots that anybody will think look "artsy". Show me a decent shot in color of something interesting, and then you'll have my respect...as if you cared...

YA guys keep saying how the rose on the lower back is over done...show me some pictures, I haven't
seen many peeople with em. And mine would be one of a kind, seeing that I drew it from my own
ideas. Normally I see little tiny flowers, or those fancy black line designs on the lower backs.
I dunno, maybe I am missing something. But thanks for the feed back anyways.

You even said it yourself. Photography is a way of expressing yourself to people. But I look at that picture, and I see nothing. It's not inspiring, it doesn't make me angry, it doesn't make me sad. There's no emotion behind it. You're just draped out, face-down, on the floor.
The tattoo isn't even the focus of the picture. To me, this was just a sleazy attempt to show some skin.
If that's the case, please don't try to pass it off as art.

It's that typical B&W impressionism. This moves me just about as much as those cute litte Happy Birthday cards with thw little kids in black and white holding a rose that's bright red. Boring. Sappy. Art for art's sake. Nostalgic anti-everything, girl VS barbie doll rhetoric.

By the way for anyone who cares to know....Manda...Not so much the art of the photography, it is the art of my tattoo, that I spent time drawing and designing. Although it might not mean much to a lot of people, only for the fact that they don't know the meaning. I agree, the layout of the photo is not that best!
