It's a terrible thing to play with another person's faith. After all, the Bible is always right. And there are plenty of practical reason why abortion and gay marriage should be banned. Here's a list of said practical reasons:

I can't argue with personal experiences, I do have Christian friends who talked about how personal experiences converted them. But then again, I also have Muslim friends who had personal experiences too. In a way, this proves to me that God is kind to everyone who asks, not simply a specific religion. And if you think about it, if we all accept that there is a God, and he's generally a nice guy, there'll be no need to squabble (or blow stuff up) over whose worship methods are best, whose book is best etc. It will solve a lot of problems. The irony is that the people who fight the most are those who believe in the same God. I don't see Buddhists and Taoists sending planes into the other side's buildings.

oh yeah and there is not a bit of difference between the "Christian God" and "Jewish God," some jewish people would like to pretend this isn't true, frankly they have to, because they have to refuse the fact that Jesus wasn't the messiah. it's not the god thats different in this case it's the people's belief. then ofcourse there are tons of other spin offs from the bible believers. not talking about different denominations, not entirelly anyway.

Point taken. My stand is simply that there is a God, but there is too little proof about whether he is a Muslim, Christian, or Jewish God. Or rather there is too much "proof" from all sides as to why their God is the best.
It's just like politics. Some believe in Bush, some believe in Kerry. Both camps throw out much bullshit about why they're right and the other is wrong. Some believe there should not be a president at all. Others believe there should be a president, but is not convinced to vote for either side. I'm the last type.

No, you got the WHOLE comment wrong. What I said is that religion is too self-referrential. Christianity is right because the Bible says so, the same way Islam is right because the Koran says so. The part about hating Jews is an analogy. Since Hitler's hate Jews, of course his book will be about hating Jews. So if you want to know if you should hate Jews, reading the Mein Kampf is kinda dumb since it will tell you to hate Jews. If you want to know if Christianity is right, of course the Bible will tell you that it's right. It's all self-referrential.
