Rant on American Stubborness [There's a nice picture at the end :)]
If there's one thing that I believe about Americans it is that they stick to their ideals no matter what the consequense. They are stubborn. How else would Bush have been re-elected? In any other country in the world I highly doubt that George W. Bush would be given a second term. I don't understand how the army is able to stand by Bush day in and day out. He is putting their lives at risk for an unachievable goal - to find so called 'weapons of mass destruction'. The fact is, that if the United States of America, with one of the strongest armies in the world, has invaded a country and has been unable to accomplish the original objective in over a year, then, in my mind, something is wrong.
There is a saying in poker "don't send good money after bad". This means that even if you go into a pot with a lot of money but you know that you're not going to win, fold and cut your loses. I believe that this is what Bush should do in Iraq. Instead of endangering more lives he should pull out, allow another country to send in peace keepers (such as Canada) and be happy with his capture of Sadaam Hussein. Instead of allowing more people to be killed, just stop the war and get on with your life. This is the second country that has been invaded by the US in less than four years. At what point does Bush go from an anti-terrorist to a terrorist. He is clearly terrorising the Iraqi's who oppose the American presence. Why else would the American's have anything to worry about in the fist place?
Stubborness has lead to one thing in American. Unnecessary death. Even the American Civil War was based on stubborness when the Southern states refused to give up slavery. Stubborness is an American quality that will contribute to WWIII whenever it happens, because we all know that it will.

I like to think of it this way:
60% of Eligible American Voters voted.
52% voted for Bush.
That means that 31.2% of Eligible voters voted for Bush.
Until I have reason to dislike them specifically, the other 68.8% are A-Okay by me.

That is true. What puzzles me is why everybody thinks Afghanistan was the wrong thing to do. Osama Bin Laden attacked the World Trade Center. Osama Bin Laden was being harboured by the Taliban, and that's where he ran all of his operations from. Many now put Afghanistan in the sa,e basket as Iraq. But Afghanistan made sense. Iraq doesn't make sense. And I'll tell you right now that no Canadian is going there peacekeeping or otherwise. We're stretched too thin, and Iraq is a mess beyond all comprehension. Canada isn't touching that thing with a 10 foot pole while wearing a space suit. That's a good thing.
