Jamaicans don't celebrate Thanksgiving. You bastards up there with your turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce and turducken and steamed vegetables and pies of every shape, size, and flavor. I hate you.

All that cheers me up is the fact that once I was in a band, and cool and stuff. Now go listen to how cool we were: http://d466485.u34.websitesource.net/music/North_Origin_-_On_My_Own.mp3

I can hear the minus twos from a mile away, but I still bask in your attention like the chubby lass in 5th grade we called Garbage Truck. We lacked imagination.

I would have properly whored this post with an attachment of the song above, but my connection down here sucks. I will instead attempt to attach something else. Enjoy.

ETS: I'm exceedingly jealous. My guitarist has a pretty decent studio setup, but he now lives about an hour and a half away, so we haven't gotten together to record anything since he moved. We do have some tunes down that need mixing and mastering, so I know where you're at. I love finishing up songs so we can distribute them, but I hate the fact that listening to the same song over and over to mix it turns a song you love into a song you can't stand to hear again.

You guys have anything halfway finished? I'd love to take a listen.

I know the feeling. I am finally to the point where I have my own studio and pretty much everything I need to make professional recordings. Now the only hurdle to overcome is laziness. There is just no substitute for time and energy.

Right now my friends and I are working on recording an album. We've been working on it for over a year now. Once a week we get together and record. I don't see an end to it really. We have enough material recorded for two albums, and haven't even started mixing and mastering any of it. One day, maybe we'll get something done completely. For now, we are just having fun capturing what's in our heads.

Our problem is, we are all fans of so many different styles of music, we kind of end up doing a little of everything under the sun. I kind of like it that way. Breaks up the monotony. Problem is...hardly any of it would fit together on an album.

Aw shit. They do spell it "Inignot."

INIGNOT: You and your third dimension.
FRYLOCK: What about it?
INIGNOT: Oh, nothing, it's cute. We have five.
ERR (pause): Thousand.
INIGNOT: Yes, five thousand.
ERR: Don't question it!
FRYLOCK: Oh, yeah? Well, I only see two.
INIGNOT: Well, that sounds like a personal problem.

ETS: Being the vocalist I couldn't agree more. But for a little more time to record, and a little more patience at mixing. Better equipment wouldn't hurt either, I mixed that on my Sony stereo speakers.

Maybe we'll get back together and record some newer stuff.

Music was good, and for the most part the production was good...

My only problem with it is the effect on the vocal, and the vocal delivery. (I am really not one to talk, as my stuff is even worse.) It just seems like the vocals sit too much atop the music, and are coming from an entirely different acoustical space than the rest of the music. Some parts don't seem to have this effect, but others do. Plus the chorus vocal needs to be either delivered more forcefully, needs to be doubled, or needs harmonies - or some combination of these. Try it out! You'll be suprised the difference it'll make.

The vocal effect is not the right reverb for this song. Other than that, the hi-hat could stand to be brought down a hair IMO. Probably would have to back the high end off on all the drums just a touch. That's about it. Everything else sounds pretty good.

I really like the song though. It has a kind of weird kind of Cult/New Wave vibe buried in there. Good job.

Inignot: Our god is a god of vengeance. A god of hate.
Err: A god of action.
Inignot: Our god is an Indian who can turn into a wolf and...
Err: Dude, that's Wolfen.
Inignot: Yes, well Wolfen will come after you, with his razor.

+2 For Inignot

Ha... beh, we gave our CD's away, wasn't a money thing for us. When you're a new artist it's all about the exposure. If I ever found our stuff on Kazaa I'd be a happy man.

BTW, thanks for the compliments, people... now I don't feel so bad about missing my FREAKIN' FAVORITE HOLIDAY. Damnit.

+1 for your link because you sounded less girly than most of the stuff on MTV.

+1 for incest Jedi style.

0 for... what is that green thing?

___________

That green thing is Ignignot from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. The show I miss most being down here without a TV. Sigh.
